Our curriculum is designed to develop students comprehensively by focusing on three key strands: Physical, Decision Making, and Character. Students will have two PE lessons each week, providing an opportunity to experience and explore a wide range of physical activities in various contexts and are grouped by gender and physical ability to ensure they are appropriately challenged.
1. Physical
Objective: To strengthen students' physical competence by improving motor skills and fitness, while educating them on the importance of health and how to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Outcomes:
Knowledge and development in physical fitness and motor skills across all stages.
Increased participation and enjoyment in a broad range of physical activities outside of PE lessons.
Development of lifelong habits for maintaining consistent levels of physical activity & health.
2. Decision-Making
Objective: To develop students' capacity to make informed strategic decisions, tactical awareness, and problem-solving through physical activity.
Outcomes:
Enhanced strategic thinking and problem-solving skills in sports and physical activities.
Ability to make informed decisions that improve performance and enjoyment.
Development of leadership and coaching skills
3. Character
Objective: To discover themselves through Physical education and movement. Students will go on a journey to become more self-aware, develop connections with others, and enhance leadership skills during curriculum time.
Outcomes:
Discover who they are and develop their desired behaviours.
Increased resilience and the ability to handle challenges both in sports and life.
Preparation for leadership roles and the ability to positively influence peers and the community.
