There are several ways we will work to improve our school this year. I will briefly talk about two key areas of focus:
Firstly, Improving Pedagogical Practice.
This involves using Cognitive Principles and research-based evidence to underpin planning for learning. We will seek to used research-based methods to help our students to use their brains more efficiently. This will hopefully have long lasting implications for them.
Secondly, we will be focusing on Student Wellbeing.
One example of this, is the autobiographical approach. The benefits of an autobiographical approach are manifold. Not only will we affirm and highlight the value of our students’ different identities but sharing past experiences can provide a firm foundation for current and future learning experiences. Getting to know one another well, adds a personal element which brings our community closer and facilitates better relationships.
The role of the form tutor is very important. They are your first point of contact. The email is the best way to communicate with them. Tutors are there to support you in case there are issues that may arise over the school year.
