All students that have met the entry requirements will start on the full IB Diploma, with 6 subjects (3 at Standard level, 3 at Higher level) ; however, for a wide array of reasons, there might be times when students will need to lower the amount of subject commitment. When this is the case, the IB team and Higher Education Counsellor will work closely with students and parents to explore alternative pathways:
the possibility of taking COURSES: this is an option for students to take IB subjects "Ă la carte" rather than the set menu that is the full Diploma. Students can choose which subject(s), which level, which part of the CORE (CAS, EE, TOK) programme they want to pursue. Each of their choices will allow them to receive a certificate. These are then transformed into "tariff points" by university admissions officers. This version of the IB is recognised and valued by universities and colleges across the globe, however courses might be more limited than with a full Diploma.
the WASC accredited High School Diploma: all students who are meeting the following requirements will receive a BISR High School Diploma regardless of their choice of IB programme.
