State Dance 2019
Dancing is hard, but some people just always seem to have that beat in their step, well the Horizon Adajios always have that perfect beat. Coming out of a strong season, the girls are pretty confident heading to the State Dance competition. The competition is coming up on January 25th and 26th and the Horizon Adajios, a team made up of twenty- one girls, have a good chance at taking a high place. The girls have competed in a total of five competitions this season, and third is the lowest they have got. Listen in to hear the thoughts about the season, the predictions of the competition, and the results after.
Although the girls have had a strong season, they will need a really good final competition to win, eight middle school teams are involved in the state competition and only four teams get picked for finals, but the girls are pretty confident in themselves that they will make it to the second round. Taleah Sapin said ¨We have had a really strong season so far, and I am pretty confident we will do well.¨ She was not the only one on the team that thinks that they will make it to finals. Lexi Glatt and Monique Kuntz both said ¨ I think that we will make it to finals if we keep working hard and stay positive." Although Monique said she thinks they will make it to the finals, she did say ¨It's going to be very hard to take first because of two Fargo teams that we haven't competed against yet this season that are really good.¨ Their last competition on January 19th was at Legacy High School, five middle school teams attended, and the Horizon Adajios took third place.
The State competition for the girls did not go as they had planned. Overall they got 6th place, so they did not make it to the finals. Although the competition did not go as the team hoped, they still did their best that they could, and the students of Horizon are very proud of them.
The dance season for the girls is now over. They had a very strong season, so they had hoped to do very well at the state competition, but things did not go as planned. They may not have done the best at the end of this year, but watch out because they are coming back better than ever next year.

Super Bowl LIII

Do you guys know when the first super bowl ever was? It was January 15th, 1967. The Packers won that Super Bowl over the Kansas City Chiefs. The tickets were only 12 dollars and it was the only Super Bowl that didn't sell out. We interviewed random boys and girls from Horizon Middle School. Our questions were whom do you think is gonna win the Super Bowl, why do you think their gonna win, and where are you going for the Super Bowl.
Who is going to win the Super Bowl???
The results that we got were pretty spread out for the most part due to the fact that not many people knew whom they were going for. The 65.9% of people wanted the rams to win due to the fact that they didn't like the Patriots. On the other hand, 34.1% wanted the Patriots to win because the Patriots are a good team and they have been to the super bowl a lot lately. Even though the data was little spread out, I think that it will be a very intense football game.
Where are you going for the Super Bowl???
On the other hand, we asked them about where they were going to go for the Super Bowl. Surprisingly only 29.5.% are going somewhere else besides home. But, 70.5% of people will be staying home or they don't know where they were going to go. Some of the people we interviewed didn't watch football and they don't know if they would watch it. So, in the end, most people will be either staying home for the Super Bowl or they won't be doing anything.
Why did you pick that team???
The last question we asked was why they are going for the team they picked. To our surprise the people that picked the Rams either because they liked them or absolutely hated the Patriots. This is because of what happened 2 years ago when the Patriots deflated the ball to win one game. Eddie Lin said, “The Patriots cheat and they're also too stupid”. This is mainly true due to what they had to do to win. On the other hand, every person that picked the Patriots picked them because they have been to the Super Bowl a few times but also for their quarterback Tom Brady. Either way, both the teams have a chance.
For those of you who don't know what the Super Bowl is, it's the last game of the NFL season where the best team of the AFC and the best team of the NFC face off in this game. It is one of the most watched sporting events every year. 111 million viewers watched in 2011, making it the most watched television program in American history. A lot of people watch the Super Bowl just for the commercials. The cost of placing a commercial in the Super Bowl is more expensive than any other television event. The average cost is $2.8 million for 30 seconds of air time. In 1967, when the first Super Bowl was played, commercials only cost between $75,000 and $85,000 for a one-minute commercial.
