WHAT IS WORKKEYS ?
ACT WorkKeys® is a job skills assessment system measuring “real world” skills that employers believe are critical to job success. These skills are valuable for any occupation being considered & at any level of education.
TESTING INFORMATION
Register online at bismarckstate.edu/testing for the WorkKeys
You may select any day/time that is available on the online registration form.
If you are registering on your own, you will need to notify your Career Advisor of date/time in order to be excused from school to take the exam.
Each assessment is 55 minutes long, so plan for about 3 ½ hours the first time testing.
Can schedule between the hours of 8:30am to 12:30pm, BSC Testing Center will close at 4:00pm.
Must pass these three assessments with a score of 5:
Applied Math
Graphic Literacy
Workplace Documents
*The exam can only be taken 2 times per 30 day period*
Cost: All three assessments $60, or $20 per assessment if taken individually.
You will pay at the Student Finance office, located on 1st floor of Schafer Hall, and you can pay by cash, check or credit card.
If you have a balance at BSC, possibly due to a dual credit course, you must have that paid off before being able to take the exam. You may contact the Student Finance office (701-224-5533) or Campus Connection to check before your scheduled date to take the exam.

REMINDERS:
Bring a pencil & calculator; $60 for full testing; $20/test if testing fewer than three; driver’s license/Photo ID
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your testing time
Your Career Advisor will notify the attendance office of your absence, but you must let your teachers know that you will be absent for WorkKeys testing & prepare for any missing assignments
Check into the attendance office when leaving for testing and upon returning to school. You are expected to be back at school as soon as you are finished testing.
If you must cancel your scheduled exam date, you need to do so with your Career Advisor.
IMPORTANT – After you have completed the Workkeys with the needed scores, you will need to complete the scholarship application. Click here for directions on completing the application through PowerSchool.
