Volunteer Secretary for After Prom Party Committee for Wilton Public School
Volunteer Chaperone for After Prom Party Committee for Wilton Public School
Standard 5: Community and External Leadership… understand and engage families, communities, and other constituents in the work of schools and the district and to advocate for district, student, and community needs.
I volunteered to be the secretary of the Wilton-Wing After Prom Part Committee due to the need for a parent to take on this role at Wilton Public School. I attended meetings once a month last school year and had the task of keeping track of funds as well as soliciting letters to local businesses asking for donations for The After Prom Committee to use for an After Prom Party that is put on by our committee in hopes to host a fun, positive post prom party activity for students to attend. I am currently holding the secretary position again this year and will continue the duties of secretary.

Tutor students who need extra support after school to help them grow academically in reading or math.

I tutored a student in reading throughout the school year to help student move tiers in reading. The student was able to move to tier 1 and made great academic gains.
I attend as many youth sport activities as I can to show support for my students and those that are part of our school family.

This is one of my favorite things to do, to help build strong connections with my students and families. Students are so excited to have the support when I show up at their extra-curricular activities. It is so important to me that my students know I care and want to support them in all their endeavors.
