This session will be provided by our Local Mental Health Authority, Bluebonnet Trails Community Services. As required by §153.1015, School district employees who regularly interact with students are employees working on a school campus, including, but not limited to, teachers, coaches, librarians, instructional coaches, counselors, nurses, administration, administrative support personnel, student support personnel, paraprofessionals, substitutes, custodians, cafeteria staff, bus drivers, crossing guards, and district special programs liaisons. This session is available to ALL staff. All staff who interact with students must be trained by 2028-2029 school year. Staff must take this training only once to meet statutory requirements.
If an employee has previously completed the YMHFA course provided by a local mental health authority, they are not required to retake it. Staff are required to upload the certificate upon completion of the course. If earned outside of Bastrop ISD, please choose the LINK TO UPLOAD CERTIFICATE below.

In this session, 8th Social Studies teachers will collaborate with cross campus colleagues on the key concepts, themes, and essential understandings of the first unit of instruction. Participants will analyze essential standards, discuss student misconceptions, and experience engagement strategies to enhance primary source analysis for 8th grade US History. Because of the interactive, planning based nature of this session, it is recommended that campus teams attend the session with one another.
1 PM - 4 PM
In this session, 6th & 7th Social Studies teachers will collaborate with cross campus colleagues on the key concepts, themes, and essential understandings of the first unit of instruction. Participants will analyze the essential standards, discuss student misconceptions, and experience engagement strategies to enhance primary source analysis for students in the earlier grades of their middle school experience. Because of the interactive, planning based nature of this session, it is recommended that campus teams attend the session with one another.
