Anchor charts are powerful tools for making student thinking visible and reinforcing key science concepts. In this session, teachers will learn strategies for designing and using anchor charts that support student engagement, vocabulary development, and long-term retention. Participants will explore examples of effective science anchor charts, practice creating their own, and leave with templates and ideas tailored to their grade level and content. Walk away with practical tools to help students stay “anchored” in their learning throughout each unit of study.

Audience: 6-8 Science and Social Studies Teachers

Description: Become proficient in SchoolCity assessment data to maximize teacher effectiveness by gaining proficiency in utilizing reports for data comprehension. And learn how to apply various Online Markups, such as Pop-Ups, Rollovers, and Custom Speech, to items within the SchoolCity Item Bank. Participants will learn the purpose of these tools, how they differ, and gain hands-on experience creating and using them on assessments.

 This interactive session introduces science teachers to the powerful instructional tools available in Magic School AI. Participants will explore how to use AI to streamline planning, create engaging student activities, differentiate instruction, and design assessments aligned to TEKS. Teachers will practice applying Magic School AI features directly to McGraw Hill Science, then collaborate to design science lessons and supports for their classrooms. By the end, participants will leave with ready-to-use resources and a framework for integrating AI into daily instruction with confidence.

The workshop will provide practical strategies for organizing review sessions, engaging students with high-yield activities, and integrating test-taking strategies. Teachers will collaborate to design STAAR-aligned review materials and leave with a toolkit of resources and approaches tailored to their grade level and subject area.

Science safety is paramount in any laboratory setting, especially in educational environments where students engage in hands-on experiments and investigations. This course is designed to equip educators with the knowledge, skills, and practices necessary to maintain a safe and secure laboratory environment for students and instructors alike.

How to Complete a Self-Paced course.

This session is required for all new staff, new to the grade band, or if not completed in a previous school year.
