This session will be provided by our Local Mental Health Authority, Bluebonnet Trails Community Services. As required by §153.1015, School district employees who regularly interact with students are employees working on a school campus, including, but not limited to, teachers, coaches, librarians, instructional coaches, counselors, nurses, administration, administrative support personnel, student support personnel, paraprofessionals, substitutes, custodians, cafeteria staff, bus drivers, crossing guards, and district special programs liaisons. This session is available to ALL staff. All staff who interact with students must be trained by 2028-2029 school year. Staff must take this training only once to meet statutory requirements.
If an employee has previously completed the YMHFA course provided by a local mental health authority, they are not required to retake it. Staff are required to upload the certificate upon completion of the course. If earned outside of Bastrop ISD, please choose the LINK TO UPLOAD CERTIFICATE below.

In this session, teachers will learn how to use student data to drive meaningful Tier 2 instructional decisions. Participants will analyze multiple data sources, identify specific skill gaps, and create purposeful small groups based on student need. The focus will be on simplifying the data process so it feels manageable, relevant, and directly connected to daily instruction
8:30 AM - 11:30 AM
This session focuses on how to plan and structure effective Tier 2 small group instruction. Teachers will learn how to create targeted groups, establish clear instructional routines, and deliver focused lessons aligned to student skill deficits. Participants will leave with practical strategies and tools to make small group instruction intentional, efficient, and impactful.
1 PM - 4 PM
In this session, teachers will focus on the “how” of intervention—what effective Tier 2 instruction looks like in practice. Participants will learn and apply strategies for explicit instruction, scaffolding, and immediate corrective feedback to address specific skill gaps. Teachers will engage in planning and practice to ensure intervention time is purposeful, responsive, and leads to measurable student growth.
