This session will be provided by our Local Mental Health Authority, Bluebonnet Trails Community Services. As required by §153.1015, School district employees who regularly interact with students are employees working on a school campus, including, but not limited to, teachers, coaches, librarians, instructional coaches, counselors, nurses, administration, administrative support personnel, student support personnel, paraprofessionals, substitutes, custodians, cafeteria staff, bus drivers, crossing guards, and district special programs liaisons. This session is available to ALL staff. All staff who interact with students must be trained by 2028-2029 school year. Staff must take this training only once to meet statutory requirements.
If an employee has previously completed the YMHFA course provided by a local mental health authority, they are not required to retake it. Staff are required to upload the certificate upon completion of the course. If earned outside of Bastrop ISD, please choose the LINK TO UPLOAD CERTIFICATE below.

In this session, 6th-8th Reading Language Arts teachers will collaborate with cross campus colleagues on the key concepts, themes, and essential understandings of the first unit of instruction. Participants will analyze essential standards, discuss student misconceptions, and experience engagement strategies that focus on two target areas-- revision and small group instruction. Because of the interactive, planning based nature of this session, it is recommended that campus teams attend this session with one another. (Please note- this session is for on-level RLA curriculum only. Another honors session will be offered in July.)

Join this collaborative learning session as we dive into the curriculum formerly known as Springboard, now called Summit & Soar. Participants will analyze the layout of this curriculum, reinforcing the topics and texts that remain unchanged, and exploring the newly formatted elements of our rigorous and engaging honors RLA curriculum.

In this summer session, 9–10 RLA teachers will dig into the TEKS, explore how standards connect across units, and take a purposeful look at the pacing calendar. Through collaborative conversations and planning time, teachers will leave with a stronger understanding of what to prioritize—and how to make it all work in the time we have.

This session focuses on bringing new life to whole-class novels and plays in grades 9–12. Teachers will explore practical strategies to increase engagement, structure purposeful reading, and strengthen discussion and writing. Participants will also consider how to balance whole-class study with independent reading—intentionally choosing which parts of a text to explore together. Through collaboration and planning, teachers will leave with flexible ideas to make whole-class texts more meaningful and manageable.
