Welcome to Spanish II, and Spanish 4 AP. We are going to have a busy and interesting year! I am Kate Fields, or Profe. Fields to your students. This is my 27th year teaching, and my 11th in BISD. Great things will be happening this year with the newly available technology! We will also be using regular pen and paper tasks because brain research confirms that this is essential for language development. Your child should not be using his or her phone in class unless we are doing an activity. Students will receive a warning, then phones will be put in cell phone "jail" until the end of class. If students persist in using phones during instruction, the phone will be turned in to the office. All student assignments are listed on Google Classroom.

We are just getting started by learning more about our classmates, class procedures and courses.

Tutorials Tuesday-Friday am 8:05-8:35, Monday- Thursday pm from 4:20-5:00.
All work will be listed on Google Classroom. Chromebooks are expected to be distributed after September 5th.
Supplies- one spiral or composition book, several colored pens, pen and pencil, paper
If students do not have the Duolingo app, they are encouraged to download it on their phone or home computer.
Conference 6th period. Appointments may also be scheduled between 8-8:30 am or between 4:20-4:50 if needed. At least one day advance notice is requested for appointments before or after school due to tutoring duties and departmental meetings.
The app Remind is used to send announcements and reminders to students. Students can find their remind code on their Google Classroom page. Parents may also sign up for remind and can be added to Google Classroom to view student work.
At this time Google Classroom does not communicate with Skyward grade book. Therefore Skyward should always be referred to for notice of late or missing work. Google class room late notices only reflect that the assignment's due date has passed and not necessarily that your child's work is late. So, please check Skyward before assuming that your child's work is missing or late. IF it is, it will say so in Skyward.
