This advanced course involves a mix of advanced academics & laboratory based learning. It is designed to prepare students to walk into a post secondary education prepared for the challenges they will face in the career field. Students in this course are expected to begin modeling the work ethic and behavior expected of public safety professionals. This class will also teach procedures in security and patrol techniques. Students in this course will assist with the BHS Student Services Center, patrol parking lots, assist with the enforcement of parking procedures and learn about community oriented policing. Additionally, they will learn about telephone and radio communication systems, emergency management, 911 call taking, and stress/crisis management by operating the Criminal Justice Student Service Communications Center.

(Moderate) hands on & team building activities are also a part of the course. There will be times where students are required to wear athletic clothing/shoes to class in order to participate. Advanced notice will be given.
Required items for this course: A single subject college ruled composition notebook and black pen.
Students enrolled in this course are eligible to participate in SkillsUSA. They must pay the required SkillsUSA Registration Dues if they choose to participate.
