Integrity - Do the right thing, even when nobody's looking.
Respect - Respect others, respect yourself, respect your student leadership, respect our classroom, and respect the profession.
Participate - A large part of your grade will be based on your participation/ hands on applications. In life, there will always be things you don’t want to do, but sometimes you just have to do it! If that’s the case, my motto is always “fake it ‘til you make it”.
Attitude - Another large part of your grade will be based on your attitude. We all have bad days, I get it! But in public safety, you have to put that to the side and press forward. Again, sometimes you just have to “fake it ‘til you make it”.
Time Management- As a police officer, your supervisor will not always be looking over your shoulder. It’s up to you to manage your time well. The same thing applies in this class. If you have a task, get it done! If you don’t, understand the consequences.
Professionalism - Be professional at all times. This means watching how you talk and behave. Understand the lack of professionalism will negatively impact your grade.
Students who have been selected to be a part of the Criminal Justice career program are expected to uphold themselves to a higher standard than other BHS students. As a Criminal Justice student, you are expected to set an example and lead by example. Integrity, respect, dignity, and compassion are just a few examples of what strive for.
The criminal Justice program enforces a code of conduct for all students who have chosen to enroll in the program. Students and parents must read and agree to the code of conduct. Failure to abide by the code of conduct may result in the student being removed from the program and returning to the program. These violations will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
Students will receive a briefing on the course standards and will be required to agree to the terms. Parents or guardians of the student also must agree to the terms by signing the Code of Conduct along with their student, which will be sent out at the beginning of each year.
