7th grade Garcia football players took the field yesterday under the Thursday night lights at Rivera. Unfortunately, last night, the fact that we were at home did not help us. For the kickoff, Olivera received the ball and carried it for a touchdown.

In the first two halves, our defense was engaged and had some success. The Olivera offensive line was pierced by our linebackers Bryan and Brandon Guerra, and key hits by Emmanuel Gomez (CB), Ezekiel Gonzalez (OLB), Fernando Vega (S), and Kevin Ruiz (TT) cost our opponents fumbles and/or loss of yards.

Anthony Gonzalez, Jose Garcia, Brayden Rodriguez, and Ezekiel Gonzalez carried the ball for us on offense, which allowed us to advance the ball down field to attempt a kick by Emmanuel Gomez. The kick missed its target. Garcia coaches are convinced that their players should have performed better, so it was a difficult loss. Garcia lost 27-0.
