0-0 Game ends in a tie

The 7th grade Garcia football team played Faulk Middle School in their season's opening district game over the weekend. Despite numerous trips downfield under Anthony Gonzalez's direction, our offense was unable to score a touchdown. Nelson, Esteban, Leland, and Brandon were in charge of our defense, which kept our opponents from scoring a touchdown. Garcia maintained control over the game's pace, giving us a chance to win in the closing moments. Our quarterback, Anthony, takes a step back and launches a pass to the sideline, where our receiver, Brayden, was open. Brayden catches the ball and runs to the end zone. As he is tackled, he stretches toward the end zone but falls short, and the game is over. Garcia at the one yard line. A yard can mean the difference between winning and losing. A life lesson to always give everything you got. But we’ll get them next time. You all showed great heart and your coaches are proud of you.
