The Nexus technology "MODULAR BLOCK SYSTEM" has officially been registered as UTILITY MODEL by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines
In a determined move to ensure the implementation of the Integrated Solid Waste Management (ISWM) Plan of the College, the Urban Nexus through the College of Education (COE), the lead College to manage and monitor the implementation of the ISWM, presented the policy and program during the Academic Council Meeting held last 18 August 2019.
During thr meeting, Ms. Yolanda P. Beguia, Project Leader for the Solid Waste Management pilot project and COE faculty, presented the program to the members of the ACAD Council and was approved per ACADCO Resolution. No. 73, series of 2019.
The approved ISWM program and policy shall be implemented in the College with reference to the guidelines stated in the plan including the Framework for Change, the ISWM Components, Institutional Arrangements, and Plan Implementation. As stated in the plan, the COE shall facilitate the dissemination of information, coordination with the Colleges and units, and performance monitoring of the activities. The said ISWM Program and Policy was also presented during the Orientation Program for Freshmen and transferees during the early part of the school year. In support of the program, the PPDMS issued a letter to the Deans recommending the inclusion of the ISWM Policy Orientation in the introductory session of the classes to let every college student be familiar and follow the ISWM policies and show the College’s steadfast resolve in implementing the measures of alleviating the problem on solid waste.
