Professional Learning sessions offered in this catalog are all vetted and considered best practice by their various departments.
Attending sessions listed in this catalog is our preference and does not required prior principal/administrator approval. Outside-of-district (including online) sessions not listed in this catalog require prior principals/administrator approval before they can be added into your professional learning portfolio and/or qualifiable as flex credits.
If you have prior supervisor approval to attend an out-of-district professional learning not featured in this catalog, you can add the credits to your professional learning portfolio. Please indicate you had prior supervisor approval in your credit request.

Did you know that TEA has a whole database of online professional learning called TEALearn?
Excited about the possibilities? Great! Follow these steps below.
Create your TEAL Account / get a TEAL ID. You must have this in order to register for the TEA Learn courses. (Scroll down until you see the "Creating a New TEAL Account" directions.
Register yourself through TEALearn - establish your account using the same email address you use for your TEAL account.
Browse the database and see if there are applicable courses you'd like to take.
If you want professional learning credits in your portfolio for these courses you must:
Ask your principal/administrator for permission to take these out-of-district sessions beforehand.
Submit a credit request in Strive with the course certificate attached. (See Line 2 for instructions on how to do this.)
EXTRA TRAINING VIDEOS
Last year, did you end up watching a bunch of "Extra Trainings" videos from Vector Solutions/Safe Schools? While many of those provide snippets of good learning, if this is what you are choosing for your professional growth year-after-year, you may not be challenging yourself to your fullest potential. Make sure you're selecting summer professional learning that is tagged with the TTESS dimensions that you've targeted for your goals next school year. Professional Learning sessions offered in this catalog are all vetted and considered best practice by their various departments.
You will not find the Extra Trainings / Vector Solutions videos in this catalog as summer professional learning options. They are not allowable professional learning for flex credits unless directed by your supervisor.
T-TESS Tags
T-TESS Tags
You may notice on many of the course descriptions, there is a line that says, “Supports T-TESS:” and then lists several Domains and Dimensions. Course Instructors have purposefully designed their session content to help target growth in specific T-TESS areas. If you have your 24-25 T-TESS goal projection, you may want to pay close attention to the T-TESS tags for the courses you sign up for! Include your Summer PL as part of your evidence of growth towards your Professional Goal next school year.
