Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a therapy approach designed to help people process and heal from distressing experiences, trauma, anxiety, and deeply rooted emotional patterns.
Sometimes difficult experiences can remain “stuck” in the nervous system, continuing to affect thoughts, emotions, relationships, and daily life long after the event has passed. EMDR helps the brain reprocess these experiences in a way that reduces emotional intensity and allows healing to occur more naturally.
During EMDR therapy, we use structured techniques and bilateral stimulation (such as guided eye movements or tapping) while working through difficult memories, emotions, or beliefs in a safe and supportive environment. Many clients find that experiences that once felt overwhelming become less emotionally charged over time.
EMDR is not about forgetting what happened — it’s about helping your mind and body respond to those experiences with greater clarity, safety, and emotional balance.
