Join Our Lab
Prospective Ph.D. Students
We are currently recruiting PhD students! If you are interested in joining our lab, please reach out to Sung-Joo Lim (email) with your latest CV and a brief description of your background, research interests, research and academic experiences.
Students are accepted through the Department of Psychology. For more information about the training program in the department and graduate admissions, visit here.
Existing skills in any of the following areas are highly desirable, but the motivation and willingness to learn is valued even more.
Experience with experimental designs (e.g., Psychophysics, Psychtoolbox, Psychopy, Presentation, E-Prime)
Experience with neuroimaging data (structural or functional MRI) or electrophysiology (EEG, ECoG, MEG)
Computer programming (MATLAB, R, Python, Java)
Statistics and machine learning (GLM, non-parametric statistics, multivariate pattern analysis, Bayesian models)
Cognitive/neural modeling (signal detection theory, drift diffusion, Bayesian models, connectionist models, artificial neural networks, graph theory and networks).
Undergraduate Research Assistants
We are recruiting highly motivated undergraduate RAs. Working in the lab is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on research experience. We especially encourage students from underrepresented groups to apply. Through PSYC 397, you can receive research credit (2 or 4 credits depending on your weekly hours committed to the lab work).
Interested undergraduates are encouraged to read about our research on this website and read one or two papers. If you find our work interesting to you, please complete the application (shown below) and send the copy along with your latest CV and your unofficial transcript to sungjoo@binghamton.edu.
We accept applications on a rolling basis.
