Dear Data Binghamton

The Project

Dear Data was created by Giorgia Lupi and Stefanie Posavec who spent a year tracking a new element of their lives for a year sending postcards back and forth visualizing the data they collected.

Dear Data Binghamton brings their project to campus where we ask the campus community to track data for one week about a particular topic and create a visualization on a provided postcard and submit it.

Postcards will then be displayed virtually or physically depending on the number of submissions we receive.

The question: A week of Apps

When do you check social media? This could include tracking any apps, websites, or digital tools you frequently use and want to keep track of. We suggest choosing 1 to 3 apps to gather data and 3-4 variables to collect per app. Please check out our page on tracking data for more information.

How to participate

The rules

Visualizations should be drawn on the front of the postcard and your legend should be drawn on the back

DO NOT put any personal identification on the postcard or include any data that could lead to your identification (social media handles, personal hashtags, etc)

Don't track too many things!
