Our first unit this term is 'iProgram', which introduces algorithms and simple programming. We have really enjoyed using physical toys (Bee-Bots and mice) and virtual toys to perform specific actions. Our lessons in this unit have helped us to understand that computers are controlled by sequences of instructions and that computers need more precise instructions than we humans do!

This term, we have been developing our robotic skills. Building our very own VEX go robots, we started off by coding their electronic brains to go in a straight line. We looked at moving in different directions by specifically coding different motors. In the pictures, you can see us attmepting last years VEX GO challenge. We had to code our robots to lift up the satelite dishes and place them on the correctly coloured panels!
