YOUR PEOPLE TREE

"If we know where we came from, we may better know where to go. If we know who we came from, we may better understand who we are."

-Anonymous

We can learn a lot about each other based on who we consider to be our family or "our people." To build a strong relationship with someone it is important to know who is important to them.

Activity

This activity involves drawing, in any style you like, the members of your family or those you consider your special people in your life.

Bigs and Littles can use this activity to find common ground, for example, if you have a similar set of siblings, the same kind of pets, or if you have ever lost anybody in your family. Focus as much or as little as you would like on the story of your family, and on the artistic style of your people tree.

The most important part of the activity is learning about each other and who your support system includes.

TO GO DEEPER

Do you have any pets? Who's your favorite auntie?

Share more about the people in your family, pets included! The link below will give you an idea of what a family tree could look like. Have your match visualize and draw your own trees to add a deeper layer to the activity.
