BUCAF converts to BU Guinobatan; gets revamp with 8 infra 

BU College of Agriculture and Forestry was converted and launched as BU Guinobatan (BUG), as approved by the BU Board of Regents on October 21, 2022, while consecutively holding eight groundbreaking ceremonies on February 8, 2023 


Construction will begin for the repair of three classrooms at the Oropesa Building in the Mauraro Campus; rehabilitation and upgrading of the postharvest facility of the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering Department; repair of the Rice Mill; rehabilitation/renovation of the Oropesa Building; rehabilitation of the Vo-Ag Building; construction of the Food Science and Technology Building; renovation and upgrading of the BU Guinobatan Greenhouse; and the access road at BU Guinobatan.


BU set to rename ‘campuses’ by its location


Meanwhile, in a proposal, other campuses are set to be renamed based on location. Among those to be renamed according to the locality are the BU Main Campus to BU Legazpi; BU Daraga Campus to BU Daraga; BU Polangui Campus to BU Polangui, BU Tabaco Campus to BU Tabaco; and BU Gubat Campus to BU Gubat. The renaming is based on the Secretary’s Certification No. 60, series of 2022 of the Office of the University and Board Secretary as approved by the Board of Regents. | by Arnold C.
