"I want to learn more about applying the tools of behavioural insights to help achieve our programme goals…"
Before diving in to this section, make sure you've checked out the below two resources...
A 30-minute guide to changing your program goals into behaviour change goals
This workbook contains reflection activities and practice exercises designed to help you connect content to your programs and project.
Behavior Mapping
We can think of a social problem like corruption as an interactive system, and we can identify how a variety of stakeholders and behaviours interact to contribute to it. In these videos, we will demonstrate how to create a "behaviour map" — a representation of interacting behaviours that contribute to a social problem. You can use the Workbook below to follow along and create your our behavioural map.
A 10-minute intro to Systems Thinking, and how we can see complex problems as a system of behaviors
A short worked example of a Behavioural Map - what it looks like and what it contains
A 30-minute guide to developing your own Behavioural Map.
Open and download this workbook to create your behavioural map. This workbook can be used in conjunction with the behaviour mapping training videos above.
Solution Design
Effective solutions are grounded in an understanding of behaviors. A solution that doesn’t account for participants’ actual barriers and enablers may not be effective in changing behaviors. In these videos, we revisit the TESTS method for applying behavioural insights, learn how to identify barriers and enablers for a behavioural goal, and help you develop a behavioural science toolkit to create impactful solutions to social problems.
A 20-minute intro to Solution Design methodology
A recap of the COM-B behaviour change model, and a 15-minute overview of tools to help design you design behaviourally-informed solutions.
