Earth Day
By Miah Jackson
A specific brand of people do not celebrate Earth day, But Senator Gaylord Nelson created earth day. It was started on April 22, 1970, and today it is still celebrated today. Also, it is celebrated to mark the anniversary of the birth of modern environment motivation.
According to scholastic.com, you could walk or bike, cause that is gas-free, create recycling bins, grow something, and spread the love and you can send them to family and friends. These things could help you if you need any other ideas about how to care for the earth.
In conclusion, the earth should look like how you would want your house to look. Even if it is not earth day you should still do everything to keep the earth tidy.
Passover Origins
By Shira Hoffman
Do you know anything about Passover? Well, if you do not then you are in luck because I am going to tell you everything I know about this holiday. First, most people know this but for 430 years Israelis were slaves in Ancient Egypt. You are probably wondering why would the Jews go to Egypt in the first place? Well, where the Jews were living in the first place, (Canaan at the time) there was no food or water, people were dying and it was quite literally it was a desert with sand dunes.
The Egyptians told the Jews that they could come to Egypt as long as they work. The Jews came and low and behold, they became slaves for 430 years! The original deal was that they could come for a little bit and bring food back but that was not what the pharaoh at the time wanted.
The pharaoh started making the Jews do busy work and build pyramids, until one day everyone had enough. The Jews came to the pharaoh and said, “We want to go back to Canaan, we do not want to be here anymore.” The pharaoh refused and that is when the ten plagues came in. The ten plagues are, water turning to blood, frogs, lice, flies, livestock pestilence, boils, hail, locusts, darkness, and the killing of firstborn children. After that, The pharaoh finally let the Hebrews free, but then you would not believe it… The Egyptians came after the Hebrews!
The pharaoh changed his mind and decided he wanted the Hebrews to stay in Egypt, for Hebrews it was terrible they were living off of matzah (that is why we eat it during Passover and we are not allowed to eat bread) and then God gave Moses one more thing. He let him split open the sea for the Hebrews to cross through and when the Egyptians came after the water closed and everyone was killed. Now, every Passover we do not eat bread or anything with flour in honor of the Jews who lived off of matzah which is like really bad bread that tastes like a cracker and it has no flour in it.
Earth Day
By Aylin Akdag
What is Earth Day? Earth Day is about environmental protection, appreciating the Earth's beauty, appreciating Earth's resources, and more! Usually, on Earth Day people spread awareness about Climate change. What can you accomplish to celebrate Earth Day? You can try to be car-free all day! It is good for your health and helps the Earth by not releasing harmful gases. Create a bird feeder! You can make the bird feeder out of an empty milk carton, a bottle, a small box, and other things! Even though it takes time to make, it is a fun activity. Recycle! Go to your local recycling center. It can help the Earth by having less garbage in the ground and water. Grow something! Plant some seeds into a small flower pot and witness how it grows. Last but not least, spread awareness about Climate Change! It is important to spread awareness so more people help.
What is Passover?
By Gabriella Broumandi
What happens on Passover? This is a question that many people have. Here is my answer. To begin our story we have to travel back in time, about 3,000 years.
It begins with Pharaoh, the Egyptian leader. Pharaoh was afraid that the Jewish people would overcome him and steal his throne, so he decided to kill all the Jewish babies. Thousands of families were ordered to throw their baby boys into the Nile. Miraculously one baby boy was saved when the pharaoh's daughter found it floating in the Nile. The princess named the baby “Moses.” Little did she know that this baby was going to be the leader of the Jewish people.
As Moses grew he became a healthy man. One day as he was walking along a road, he saw an Egyptian whipping a Jew because he was too slow. Moses was shocked at what he was witnessing, so he killed the Egyptian. Unfortunately, two other men had seen this happen and they told him that they would report him to Pharaoh. Moses was terrified so he ran away. He stumbled across a well to see women getting pushed around by thieves. He scared all the men away and saved the ladies. One of the women became his wife. He became a shepherd and lived with his wife.
One day a sheep strolled away on a different path, so Moses followed it trying to bring it back. The sheep was headed for a cave with some light coming out. As he came closer, he realized that there was a fire on a bush, but it was not burning! Then as if things could not get weirder, the bush started to talk to him! It said “I AM GOD. YOU MUST GO TO PHARAOH AND TELL HIM TO LET MY PEOPLE GO” Moses was shocked but he knew what he had to do. So he traveled back to Egypt and went to Pharaoh. He told him that he must let his people go or else all the water in the rivers would turn into blood. Pharaoh did not listen and guess what happened. All the water turned to blood except for the Jew's water. Then Pharaoh said that he would let everyone go until he took the plague away. This was followed by nine more plagues.. They include Frogs, lice, flies, death of the livestock, boils, hail, locusts, darkness, and finally death of the firstborn son. After Pharaoh's firstborn son died, he was miserable and told the Jews to leave before they could cause more damage.
Moses told the people to get ready and they did not even have time to bake bread, they could only make matzah, which is what we eat during Passover. They packed everything and started to leave. Unfortunately at the last second, Pharaoh decided to attack again. The Jewish people could not go anywhere because there was a huge swain front of then, and behind then there was an angry Egyptian army. They were trapped! Moses knew that God was with them so he stood on a rock and prayed. Before he knew it the ocean split! The Jewish people quickly crossed. When the last Jew was safe the ocean went back and all the Egyptians who tried to cross were washed away. The Jews were free at last.

Happier than Ever Concert by Billie Eilish
By Shira Hoffman
Have you ever been to a Billie Eilish concert? I have! This article is going to be a review of how it went and I am so excited to share it! The day I went was April 6th, 2022, and the album she performed was Happier than Ever. The show opener was DUCKWRTH and I have never heard of them but they were good. As soon as Billie came on stage the whole crowd went wild and screaming and quite frankly I have never heard a crowd scream so loud. She is an amazing singer and performer and as soon as she was done with their first song she started talking to the crowd and she was such a sweet person. My personal favorite song she sang is called My Fantasy, and one fact about Billie Eilish is that she and her brother, Finneas write all their songs together and when Billie goes on tour he comes and performs with her at all her shows. I did see him and he and Billie's brother basically do all the background music. Growing up Billie Eilish has always been one of my favorite artists and me going to one of her performances was a dream come true. Overall, I had not just a good time but a great time, and going with my mom and older sister Sapir was so much fun. My mom, sister, and I love hanging out and so this was a great experience that I will never forget.
