Movie and TV
Even at Five Feet Apart You can Feel Close
By Kate Kraynova
Five Feet Apart is a dramatic romance movie made by CBS Films with Justin Baldoni as the director, Haley Lu Richardson as Stella Grant, and Cole Sprouse as Will Newman. The film is an off-brand remake of the Fault in Our Stars. Those movies are similar in terms of characters and the plot. Five Feet Apart is the only movie directed by Justin Baldoni, and I have heard about it only once, so I did not have any expectations for it. I liked the film because the actors were convincing.
Five Feet Apart is about two teenagers with cystic fibrosis who see each other in a hospital and fall in love, but they must avoid physical contact because of their disease. The movie was filmed in New Orleans, and the two main characters go to Saint Grace Regional Hospital. Because Five Feet Apart is a remake of a film that existed earlier, the plot is not original. The scenario is surprising and exciting, and it is one of the things I liked the most about this movie besides the actors' play. The film has a well-written plot, the dialogues in it are believable, and most of the actions happen in the hospital, so the whole theme is pretty depressive.
The two main characters have opposite personalities. Stella Grant is an optimist who has a YouTube channel on which she shows her life in the hospital and tries not to lose hope. Will Newman is a pessimist who has already lost all his hope for new lungs. Stella is a perfectionist, and Will is a chaotic artist. The characters were believable and natural. Besides the main characters, I also liked Barb- the caring doctor who loved all her patients like her own children.
Even though most of the actions happen in the hospital because the main characters live there, the director was still able to make the movie beautiful. I can not remember any camera sequences, but (!SPOILER WARNING!) I liked the part of the movie in which Stella was getting new lungs because I could feel all her stress and hope through the screen.
The soundtrack in Five Feet Apart is written by Andrew Charles Grammer. There was a scene in the movie with creepy music (SPOILER ALERT!) where Stella, Will, their friends, and their relatives made a birthday party for Will, and right after it, Stella's best friend dies. Overall, I can say that the soundtrack is memorable and different from other movies.
I feel like the ideal audience for this movie are most likely teenagers, but if an older person had watched it, they would most likely feel the same emotions as the teens. I would personally recommend this movie. Some people might have a different opinion on it, but even if you will not like it in the end, I would still suggest you watch it because it is a beautiful experience.
Toy Story
By Rocco Taylor
2010 was the first time I watched Toy Story. Toy Story is an animation that was made in 1995 by Pixar. Toy Story is a series with a couple of versions. As a little kid my expectations were not high, and I am pretty picky with movies but this movie was amazing. This movie is about a bunch of toys that have their own life. My first reaction to this movie was pretty dull, but then I watched it many other times and I finally understood it. This movie met my expectations well.
Toy Story is about a bunch of toys who have their own life, they always would be in a bad situation and try to fix it. The set is the San Francisco bay area, a fictional location. The basic concept is about these toys who have their own life. The plot is original because I have not seen any other movie like Toy Story. The ending is exciting and action-packed. The film is well written because it is original. The dialogue is ridiculous in a good way because you would never think toys could talk. Toy Story has a pretty consistent theme in the series.
I think Tom Hanks and Tim Allen had amazing performances. Tom Hanks really stood out to me because he was the main character, and his acting was on point. Tom Hanks who plays Woody was obviously fake but in a good way because that was the theme of the movie. Also, he was consistent with his character. Tom Allen stood out because he was the second main character. Tom Allen's acting was almost as good as Tom Hanks. His character was also fake in a good way because toys can not fly but it made The movie interesting. Overall the cast had an amazing performance and is
one of the best movies for little kids.
The director helped the movie because the script was really well, and there were good actors. The film is edited well to make it look like the characters are doing certain things. The transitions are incredible and they well suit the movie.
Randy Newman composed the original soundtrack. The soundtrack enhanced this movie because it makes the scenes more interesting. The music enhances all of the scenes the music comes in on. Every scene with music was a good scene. The soundtrack is original. The other Toy Story movies are pretty much the same soundtrack some songs change. The soundtrack is memorable especially the song "You got a friend me."
I think the audience for this film is younger kids ages four to eight. The audience's character probably consists of playful and cheerful children who like fun action films. Some similar films they may like include, Star Wars, Sharkboy and Lavagirl, and Wall-E.
A Big, Chaotic Wedding
By Siena Goldman
My Big Fat Greek Wedding is a great movie directed by Joel Zwick and written by Nia Vardalos. It was produced by Gold Circle Films and HBO Films in 2002. I thought that this movie exceeded my expectations because I can relate to the storyline.
My Big Fat Greek Wedding is set in Chicago, Illinois. It is about a thirty-year-old woman, Toula Portcullis. She has a typical big Greek family, with cousins, uncles, and aunts galore. Toula's perfect older sister is already married and set for life, while Toula is undesirable as a wife and is forced to work at her parent's restaurant. One day, she meets a handsome young American man. The two immediately share a connection, and he inspires her to change herself into a better woman.
The plot is pretty exciting because it has a twist. It seems as if Toula will never have a change in her life, and then she has a huge change happen to her. I like that the plot changed. This film is pretty well-written. The subject's culture was well-researched, the plot was relatable to people, and the set was very well-made. The theme is that change can happen in many ways, mostly in good ways.
There were no outstanding performances, but the wedding scene was my favorite.
All of the characters were believable because it is a non-fiction storyline. My favorite character is the main character, Toula Portocallis. She was the character that went through the most change throughout the movie. Another pretty good scene was a one was when Toula first met her love, Ian, because it was the scene
that started the whole movie, and it would lead to more events.
The director did a great job directing how the actors delivered their lines. The choice of music fits the theme of the movie. He also added some humor into everything, which made the film have culture and comedy. There was one moment where there was a basketball, and the special effect was a fire on the tip of the ball.
Alexander Janko composed the soundtrack for this movie. He has worked on the movie Year By The Sea. The soundtrack does enhance the film because it is Greek is a big part of it, and it has Greek music to go with the culture of the families in the movie. the soundtrack is original because the composers would need to create their Greek songs to match the theme of the movie. The soundtrack is not that different from other movies, although it has unique Greek sounds. It was a pretty good soundtrack, but it was not memorable.
I think the ideal audience would probably be teens to adults because of some mature scenes. Other than that, it can be a family movie. I definitely would recommend this film. It is filled with plot twists, action, romance, and comedy that I think most people would love.
Watch for the Vampires at Twilight
By Adriana Hakimian
Twilight is one of my favorite movies ever. Bella Swan is new to a school after her parents divorced, and now she is living with her dad in forks. She makes some new friends and fits in until the Cullin family comes into her life. Edward Cullen acts strangely in front of Bella and keeps staring at her. She tries her best to focus, but he keeps giving her a strange look. Bella notices some things about him how his eyes change, how strong he is, how fast he is.
Bella realizes that Edward somehow is protective of her. Bella is now confused and shocked. She does some research and finds out that he is a vampire. Now she is with him and knows his secret. My favorite part in the movie is when Bella goes and saves Edward. She does have a problem though Jacob, her childhood friend, is all over her. I review this movie a ten out of ten. It is a highly mysterious movie. Have fun watching!
Grown Ups is Not Just a Film for Grown-Ups
By Shira Hoffman
The first time I saw the movie Grown Ups, my expectations were pretty high because Adam Sandler is in this movie, and usually, the film that he is in is hilarious.
This comedy movie is about a single man who drinks too much, Marcus Higgins. A father with three daughters who he rarely sees is Rob Hillard, an overweight and unemployed guy named Chris Farley. This henpecked house husband is Kurt McKenzie, and lastly, the most successful one is a Hollywood agent married to a fashion designer, Lenny Feder. At this point, they all have kids and these men all did basketball together growing up, and they all reunite at their old basketball coaches' funeral. The plot is original, and I do not think there are other movies like it. This movie is a surprising, exciting, action-packed comedy that everyone I know has a fun time watching. Not to mention it is written well, ridiculously funny, and authentic. One performance in this movie that stands out is when one of the men reunites with his three daughters, who are all very different; two are pretty, and one is ugly. This scene is even funnier because the father is hideous, short, and weird, so everyone is surprised that he has two pretty daughters. The second performance in this movie that stood out to me is one of the first scenes. This is funny because it is summer and one of the families in the film tries to use a blow-up pool; and the guy is overweight, so when he jumps in, the whole thing breaks, and all the water comes out of it.
Overall, the soundtrack is original and fits the movie perfectly.
The ideal audience for this film is everyone. It is a family-friendly movie and is a great movie to watch when you want to laugh. Other similar films viewers of this film might like are Instant Family and go with it. Both of these films are by the same director Dennis Dugan. I recommend this film to everyone, especially if you are the type of person that loves action-packed comedy movies.
Oldie but Goodie
By Jacob Pinchuk
My expectations for Stand By Me were very high because this movie won many awards. Stand By Me is about four 12-year-old close friends, Gordie, Chris, Teddy, and Vern. After learning the general location of the body of a local boy who has been missing for several days, they set off into the woods to see it. The movie takes in the summer of 1959 in Castle Rock, Oregon.
The film is very well written; every word matches the scene's context and the kids' age. The performances of all the boys were outstanding, but River Phoenix, who portrayed Chris Chambers, really shone.
The most memorable camera sequence was when the boys were walking on the train tracks when suddenly the camera switched angles and showed the dead boy. Since the movie was well edited, I never lost interest in the story.
The soundtrack for Stand by Me included music by notable names such as Buddy Holly, Jerry Lee Lewis, and The Coasters. There is one pivotal moment when the soundtrack enhances the movie which is at the end when you see Chris all grown up with his own kids looking back at his childhood while the "Song Stand By Me" is playing in the background.
Stand By Me is one of a kind, the only movie that is remotely close to Stand By Me is the film named Goonies. All in all, Stand By Me is a fantastic movie; every aspect of the movie is excellent.
Chicago Med: A Medical Drama to Watch
By Adriana Hakamian
Chicago Med is a TV show about doctors and nurses who save people's lives. Dr. Rhodes is the main character in the show. He is a cardiothoracic surgery fellow, and he helps people with areas like the arm, heart, and legs. This is exciting to most people because they like to see how the surgery works.
The rest of the doctors, like Dr. Manning, Dr. Choi, and Dr. Haelsted, are all emergency med doctors who help people that have just gotten hurt, and they know the right medicine to put on their patients. The nurses are April and Maggie, who support the emergency med doctors to help their patients.
The other doctors are physiatrists, including Dr. Reese, who used to be an emergency med doctor but switched into psychiatry with Dr. Charles. A physiatrist helps a patient with emotional pain and tries to help them grieve through the pain.
Now, let us get to the drama. Everyone wanted Dr. Manning and Dr. Halstead to be together in Season 1, but the problem was that Dr. Manning had already gone through plenty of things with her husband's death. So, she rejected Dr. Halstead. Will (Dr. Halstead) has always liked Natalie (Dr. Manning). After that, both of them had relationships with others but knew that they were right for each other at the beginning of the season.
Chicago Med is a great TV show if you like surgery and drama in one.
A Fresh Take on Spider-Man
By Benjamin Hacker
Peter Ramsey directed Spider-Man into the Spiderverse, and some of the main actors included Jake Johnson, Shameik Moore, and Hailee Skienfield.
This movie is the first animated Spider-Man. My expectations were very high for this movie because it is the first of its kind. The movie Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse overall exceeded my expectations.
The film is set in New York, and the basic concept of the film is that people need to learn to rely on others and fight through life's adversity to save themselves. The film is very well-written because the movie is entirely unlike any other movie. An example of how this movie is completely different from other movies is that there are many connections from other movies. Another reason why the film is well written is that this movie is about a family.
The acting performance that stood out to me was John Mulaney because he was a hilarious character in the movie. John Mulaney was a pig version of Spider-Man. He was amusing and childish because he would fight villains in many funny ways.
There are many memorable camera sequences, such as when Spider-Man fights all of the villains at once and his companions jump through the portal to their universes. The film is animated, which adds children liking to the movie. The reason why this brought children's attention is that it was animated and creative.
The film was well edited and looks good. The reason why it looks good is that it shows every little detail. Another memorable moment was when the spider bit the kid.
The person that composed the soundtrack was Daniel Pemberton. The soundtrack enhances the film because it brings an external and exciting feeling to the movie. The soundtrack creates a superficial sense because the soundtrack shows when something is going to happen. The film includes music by artists like XXXTENTACION, Juice WRLD, Vince Staples, Jaden Smith, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Ski Mask the Slump God, Ty Dolla $ign, Post Malone, Swae Lee, Anuel AA, and Thutmose. The soundtrack is original because it is different from other soundtracks.
An ideal audience would be kids aged 8-14 because of the movie's animation and humor. Another reason is that it is based on children's and superhero genres. Other similar films that the audience would like are Marvel Movies because they have superheroes. I would recommend the film because the film is full of action and animation that makes a great film.
Spiderman takes us Into the Spider-verse
By Jake Shampansky
Peter Ramsey directed Spider-Man into the Spiderverse, and the main actors included Jake Johnson, Shameik Moore, and Hailee Steinfield. This movie is the first animated Spider-Man, but there have been many Spider-man movies that are not animated. I enjoyed Spider-man three with Toby Maguire. This movie came out on my birthday, so I went to see it. I love Spider-man films, so I was expecting a good movie. The movie exceeded my expectations because I did not think they could make a great animated movie, but they did. I loved this movie, and I am happy I watched it.
The movie was about a 14-year-old middle schooler that was bit by a radioactive spider giving him powers that turned him into Spider-Man. When he meets Peter Parker, he soon realizes that many others share his unique, high-flying talents. Miles must now use his newfound skills to battle the evil Kingpin, a hulking madman who can open portals to other universes and pull different versions of Spider-Man into our world. I came into this movie expecting the same storyline as any other Spider-man, but Peter Ramsey surprised me. It was completely different but in a good way.
Many performances stood out, but my favorite was Shameik Moore. He did well with the voices of Miles Morales. He was consistent. The voice of Shameik Moore matched Miles Morales's personality. Another performance that stood out was Jake Johnson. He was an excellent Peter B. Parker, and I could tell that he was a trained voice actor. Jake's voice matches his character so well.
There are many memorable scenes, but it was remarkable and fun when Miles Morales was sticking to Gwen Stacey's hair. This moment was unforgettable because it was the first time Miles Morales had Spider-Man powers. Another significant scene was when he claimed the walls of his new private school and stuck to the birds.
This was a moment I remembered because it was when he first realized he was Spider-Man. A fantastic scene was when the camera zoomed in on the spider bite where Miles and his uncle were doing graffiti.
The Soundtrack from Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse was composed by Daniel Pemberton. This soundtrack featured artists including XXXTENTACION, Juice WRLD, Vince Staples, Jaden Smith, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Ski Mask the Slump God, Ty Dolla $ign, Post Malone, Swae Lee, Anuel AA, and Thutmose. I think this soundtrack enhanced the movie because it made the movie alive, helped the director get more people to come to watch it, and got more great reviews. One pivotal moment was when Miles was supposed to be getting ready for school, but instead, he was listening to "Sunflower" By Post Malone and tagging. The soundtrack was original because it included many artists with many different voices and styles of music.
The ideal audience for this movie is eight-fourteen because it is an animated movie, and it is highly humorous. Another reason is that it is based on a superhero movie. Next, it is made by Marvel and is immensely entertaining. I think the audience would like other animated Marvel movies because it is about superheroes and action. I recommend this film because it is full of action and humor, making it one of the best movies.
Feel the Beat under Your Feet
By Zoe VanSolkema
Feel the Beat is a 2020 film created by Netflix and directed by Elissa Down. Because of Covid-19, my expectations for the movie were not that high, considering the new restrictions the cast would have to follow. However, I enjoyed other Netflix originals, so I was still excited. When I first watched the movie, it exceeded all of my expectations. Despite the conditions, I believe the movie was outstanding.
The movie starts in New York City, where the main character April moved to pursue her dream career in dance. After a failed audition and being evicted from her apartment, April decides to return home to a small town called New Hope in Wisconsin. While in Wisconsin, she meets back up again with family, friends, and her old dance teacher Miss Barb. Miss Barb asks her to teach a class for the new students, and April learns important new lessons about life while not just teaching the class but bringing them to the finals of a dance competition. The plot was exciting because April and the other characters faced many tough decisions. I find the film extremely well-written because it is realistic and the themes are relatable.
The acting in Feel the Beat is impressive. When I first watched the movie, I could tell that the cast had so much strong chemistry. One particular actress that stood out to me was Shaylee Mansfield, who played Zuzu. I enjoyed her performance because even though she is deaf and used sign language throughout the movie, she still was able to show her character's personality. The whole cast as a group was phenomenal. Each of their performances contributed, and the film turned out incredible.
The movie was filmed well. My favorite scene in the film is when the dance class goes to the park to dance in the rain. I love this scene because it shows how the movie has its sad parts, but a happy and fun moment can come out of it even when the setting is bleak. The film does use some special effects for lifts and turns in some of the dances. I think the use of special effects was realistic and fitting for the movie. However, in one scene, one of the characters throws up, and the liquid they used for the puke does not seem realistic. I think the film is well edited. The scenes go by slowly, and the transitions are quick. I think this suits the movie genre.
The soundtrack is mainly composed of songs released around or before 2020. I believe that the soundtrack enhances the film, primarily because it is a movie about dance. One pivotal moment in the film is the dance finale when the whole cast dances to Everybody Dance Now in the street. The soundtrack is similar to other Netflix originals.
The ideal audience for this movie is anyone from 9-14. I believe this because the movie talks about worries or hopes that this age group might have. Similar films in this genre as Netflix originals include Mix Tape and A Week Away. I give this movie five stars.
Family Reunions Can Be Fun
By Miah Jackson
Family Reunion is a TV show directed by Meg DeLoatch. My expectations of this show were to get to know the family and observe their journey.
Family reunion is based on a multi-generation African American family. The central part is a family of six that travels from Seattle, Washington, to Columbus, Georgia, for the Mc Kellen Family reunion and decides to stay to be closer to family.
In this show, there was one performance that stood out. In the episode, "Remember, when the glass passed," there was a scene about how kids do not have to be scared to pass away. The adults danced and sang about death to make the kids feel better.
Another big performance in this show is in the season Remember Mazizi's First Love? Without giving away a spoiler Mazzi, their youngest son liked his music teacher, and they did a short performance about him and his music teacher's life.
The cinematographer in this show used slow-motion and tracking back in time to create a specific mood. They used following back in time on the first episode, "Remember how it all started"? This show is edited well; even it is excellent at the end when they sometimes add bloopers to the end of the show cause it shows that every show makes mistakes. It shows how many takes they have to do to make a good show or movie.
Music is present in all the episodes of the season. I would say that the soundtrack is original because I have never heard the kind of music or beat used in this show. Each show has its taste in sound, but overall, I think the soundtrack is memorable.
I think the ideal audience for Family Reunion could be any age or gender. I believe that anyone who watches this would like Fuller House, Secrets of Sulphur Springs, and Raven's home. They all have the concept of comedy. Overall I do recommend this show. It is inspiring with twists and turns.
Not All Weekends are for Relaxing
by Adriana Hakimian
The movie The Weekend Away is a thriller movie directed by Kim Farrant and produced by Netflix. When I first saw the movie's picture, I didn't think it would be suspenseful, but it was a fantastic movie. My reaction was shocking. It was so mysterious and fun. I loved it so much! I was shocked by the ending. It didn't meet my expectations, but it was better than mine. The movie is about a weekend getaway to Croatia that goes awry when a woman is accused of killing her best friend as she attempts to clear her name and uncover the truth. Her efforts unearth a painful secret. The concept of the movie is to leave people in suspense. Example? It's very entertaining and not boring at all. The dialogue is very believable.
The actors make the crime look believable. The film has a mystery theme because Beth tries to find her best friend's killer. The performance that stood out to me the most was when they found out who the person was that killed Kate. Beth (Leighton Meester) is emotional in a realistic way. She shows that she cares, but when you watch her act, you're seeing her in person. Another performance that stood out to me was when Zain (Ziad Bakri) initially seemed like a caring character, but when the movie kept going, he started to get annoying when he was in the film too much. The director helps hinder the movie by putting different people, and it's harder to guess who killed Kate.
There's a memorable camera sequence when Beth gives Kate the necklace. They do not use any special effects except for fighting, which is realistic. The film is edited in a structured way where the transitions and music are very on beat. Daniel Wohl composed the soundtrack for the film. Like any other film, it just goes with the moment. The soundtrack is nothing special to be memorable. The ideal audience for the film is teens or adults with a lesson to be careful who you trust. The age is 13 and up. Some other films you would like similar to The Weekend Away are Brazen, and Forgive us our Trespasses. I recommend the movie 100%! Watch it right now!

Magical People Make a Magical Film
By Jion Jung
Encanto is an outstanding 2021 Disney film. Byron Howard and Jared Bush both helped direct the enchanting film. I have not seen any other films by Byron Howard, but I have seen many films by Jared Bush, such as Moana and Zootopia. I loved both these films, so it is no surprise that I consider Encanto one of my favorite recent films. My friends had all watched it and said it was terrific. They kept singing the songs! When I watched the movie myself, I was disappointed because the songs were outstanding and catchy, but the plot was basic and straightforward.
Encanto is about a girl named Mirabel Madrigal. Mirabel's family, the Madrigals, all have one extraordinary power, but Mirabel does not have any capabilities. Even though Mirabel does not have any powers, she still tries to stay positive. The Madrigals' life is pretty perfect until Mirabel starts seeing things happening to the house. She tries to warn the family and Abuela, but they do not listen. In the end, though, everything is fixed. The plot is original, but you can easily guess what will happen in the end because the story structure is simple. In my opinion, Encanto was well-written since the characters were believable and relatable. A strong message in Encanto was that even if you do not have a special power, you could still be a hero.
No performances stood out, but all the cast members had magnificent voices. This is proven when they sing some of the songs in Encanto. The whole cast performed exceptionally well. Encanto ended up with Best Animated Feature Film Oscar, Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures (Original Score), and Best Achievement in Music Written for Motion Pictures (Original Song). This movie has only just come out in November of 2021.
Some examples of cinematography are when the camera focuses on the character if they are talking. The camera sometimes scans everybody to show the scene and later focuses on a surface. The camera runs along with them when characters are running to keep them on the screen. One of the scenes was when everybody came to see Antonio's gift. Many people were there, and the camera showed everybody and then explicitly zoomed in on other characters later.
Lin-Manuel Miranda and Germaine Franco composed Encanto's soundtrack. Lin-Manuel Miranda had also written Moana's How Far I'll Go and Your Welcome, both trendy songs. Perhaps one of the most popular songs included in the Encanto soundtrack was We Don't Talk About Bruno. There are two critical moments in Encanto that the songs enhance the moments. The first moment was when Luisa sang to Mirabel (Surface Pressure), telling Mirabel is a song about how she is very pressured and how she has to hold up the family. The second moment was when Mirabel asked around about Bruno, and Pepa and Felix began this memorable song, We Don't Talk About Bruno. This song shortly summarizes why you should not be talking about Bruno. We Don't Talk About Bruno even reached #1 on Billboard Global 200!
The ideal audience for this film would probably be 8-13. This movie is kid-appropriate, but older people can still watch it too. I do recommend the film because I think that it has catchy songs. I loved this film, but I rate this film 4.5/5 stars, but only because I wish the plot were more complicated. Overall, I found this film enjoyable.
Great Family Entertainment
By Liana Jensen
My expectations for Encanto were low, but after I watched the movie, I liked the movie. I thought it was a great family movie and perfect for any age. Director Byron Howard has worked on many Disney projects such as Bolt, Tangled, Zootopia, and Encanto. The other director Jared Bush has worked on Moana, Zootopia, Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero, and Encanto. The film is set in Columbia and follows the story of Mirabel Madrigal. The film is about a family of magical gifts that helps the town. The plot is original, so I have not seen anyone decide to make a movie like this.
The movie has an exciting turning point. The dialogue is good and not too childish, and it stays consistent. Some scenes that stand out are when Mirabel is going around telling the town kids about her family's magical gifts and what they are. Another scene that stands out is What Else Can I Do. The scene is when Isabel created a cactus, and she seems frightened by what she began because she has never made something like that, so she's confused. The best scene that captures the movie is when Abuela and Mirabel are fighting, and it builds up to the house dying because it is a magical house. The best song in the film is We Don't Talk About Bruno. Bruno is a character that is a part of the Madrigal family but left a long time ago. The song explains why they can not talk about him and every "bad" thing he did. I would recommend this movie because it is funny and family-friendly.
Magical Transformations in Luca
By Baran Naim
Luca is a Disney movie directed by Enrico Casarosa. I had never seen a film made by Enrico Casarosa before Luca, but in my opinion, this movie was perfect, and I would watch another movie made by this director.
This film is about a young sea monster boy with the ability to become human while on land, which explores the town of Portorosso with his new friend, Alberto, experiencing a life-changing adventure! I think that this was a very well-written film, and it was very entertaining. I believe that the lesson is to listen to your heart!
I think the character Luca is very relatable. I noticed that he was scared at first to come out of the water because he grew up staying in the water. Although, once he went to the surface, he realized it was not as bad, and it was fun on the cover!
In conclusion, this was a fantastic movie. I would give it 4.5 stars and recommend it.
Spider-Man Finds His Way Home
By Cristian Llerena
Spider-Man No Way Home is directed by Jon Watts and produced by Sony Studios. I enjoyed the series of Spider-Man Homecoming, Spider-Man Far From Home, and Spider-Man No Way Home. The third film in the series met my expectations because I was entertained and surprised. Out of the nine Spider-Man movies, Jon Watts directed the last three in the series.
With Spider-Man's identity revealed, the friendly neighborhood web-slinger is unmasked and can no longer separate his everyday life as Peter Parker from the high stakes of being a superhero. When Peter asks for help from Doctor Strange, the stakes become even more dangerous, forcing him to discover what it truly means to be Spider-Man. The acting for No Way Home was alright. It did not look believable most of the time, and the last scene seemed unbelievable because Peter's friends did not remember Peter, and they were giving him weird looks. If it were not for the excellent acting, the movie would have been terrible.
The director tells the cameraman where to go or where to shoot the shot. When Spider-Man and Doc Ock were fighting on the freeway, it had incredible effects, and the scene was concise. When Spider-Man and MJ were swinging through the city in the first scene, the camera moved left, right, down, and up making it seem like the audience was swinging with them. The scenes are very well-edited, and the transitions are outstanding.
The soundtrack for the movie were good. When they were fighting, they added intense music; when it was a sad scene, they would add sad music, and when it was average, there was traditional music. I like the last scene where the spell lets loose, and all the other villains from different universes, and the music was theatrical. It was like they were trying to make you cry in that scene.
The audience is really for kids that are eleven to thirteen and boys and girls. The older kids probably would not like it because of the movie genre, and it is not their thing.
Head to the Movies to see the New Spiderman
By Gabriella Broumandi
This movie is excellent, and I like the versions before it. This movie exceeded my expectations.
Spiderman-Man No Way Home is about a boy named Peter Parker who was in high school when he was bit by a spider and discovered that he had powers. He could sense when something wrong would happen, swing from one place to another, and have other extraordinary abilities. He lives in New York with his Aunt Mae and his aunt’s boyfriend, Happy. The film is set in New York, and if you like superheroes. This movie is for you.
The plot of this movie is exciting and intriguing. The story is fantastic and mind-blowing. This film is exceptionally well written, with everything falling into place. This film has a message that even if the world is against you, do your best to fight for what is right.
A performance that stood out to me the most was when all three Spider-Men from different universes met to fight the villains. This stood out because it was the last thing you would have expected. One phenomenal actor was Tom Holland. He made the movie seem super realistic and funny. Another great actor was Zendaya. Her acting made the entire film ten times better.
The cinematography in this movie was superb. It was impossible to tell that the lighting and sound effects were all edited in. Some scenes had special effects, like the fighting scenes or when Spiderman was swinging through the city. Everything was exceptionally realistic. Overall the film was edited amazingly. The transitions and sound effects included made it one of the best movies I have ever watched.
Michael Giacchino, the composer for the soundtrack of other movies like Star Trek, Jurassic World, and many Pixar movies, had a great soundtrack for this movie. It was original and exciting. The music made the film have a mood. If there were a fighting scene, you would feel energetic. One reason that I will remember this movie is because of the soundtrack.
I feel that the ideal audience for this film would be between the ages of eight and older. I think that anyone could enjoy this movie. If someone enjoys watching Marvel or action movies, there should be a movie. You would probably like other movies like Jumanji if you liked this film. In conclusion, I would recommend this film.
Sequels Can Be Good Afterall
By Aylin Akdag
Sony Pictures Spider-Man: Far From Home is directed by Jon Watts, who produced other Spiderman movies like Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: No Way Home. The film is a sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Although this movie is a sequel, it exceeded my expectations. It was enjoyable and exciting to watch.
The movie is about Peter Parker going on a class trip to Europe and having to save the world. The film is set in Venice, Italy, other parts of Europe, and Hertfordshire, England. The plot is surprising and different from other movies I've seen. It's similar to other superhero movies, though. The dialogue is believable and is realistic to what a person would say. During the movie, the central theme was deception.
I think Zendaya and Tom Holland's performances are the best in the movie. They stood out to me the most because of how funny and awkward they were with each other. It also felt like I was watching a typical conversation between high school students when they spoke to one. I liked the train scene best. They made the camera angle seem like he got hit by a train. The special effects were a big reason why I liked this movie. If the special effects were terrible, this movie would go downhill quickly.
Michael Giacchino composed the soundtrack. He worked on many movies like Ratatouille, The Incredibles, Star Trek, Up, Dr.Strange, and others that enhanced the film because the music fit every scene. Some key moments were when Spider-Man was going to Berlin. The soundtrack was very original and memorable. It is slightly similar to other films, though. I think the ideal audience was teenagers to adults and Spiderman fans. I strongly recommend this movie.
Unexpected Action and Fun
by Eva Glucksman
The movie is Shang Chi and the Seven Rings, the director is Daniel Cretton, and the studio is Marvel. I have not seen any other films by the director, but I had high expectations as I had seen many movies made by the studio, so I expected an entertaining film. The movie met and exceeded my expectations since it was packed with action.
The movie is about Shang Chi, who ran away from home because he didn't want to be a part of it, but his past catches up to him, and he has to return home to many secrets. The film is set in New York City. The film's basic concept is "You can't run away from everything." The plot is surprising and action-packed and doesn't repeat much. It has hidden points and connects to the other movies in the Marvel universe. The dialogue is believable and authentic. The film has a message that is defined throughout the film.
In my opinion, Aquafina was hilarious, mainly in how she delivered the lines. Also, the actor Meng'er Zhang, who plays Shang Chi's sister, put emotion into her lines, making her very believable. The skill that she had when training with her weapon given to her by her aunt looked fluid and effortless when it could not have been so. The actor of Wenwu, Shang Chi's dad, played him so well. There were many scenes where he showed how desperate the character was while doing a great act.
The whole cast, in general, was excellent because they acted out their parts perfectly and were very believable. They all had skill and grace when fighting. For example, demons are released from a mountain at one point, and the way the heroes fought them looked easy, although it must have been difficult.
The director helped create memorable moments on camera through flashbacks and close-ups.
The film uses special effects such as floating fire rings, demons, a giant dragon, and a portal to another universe. No matter how many special effects there were, it all looked authentic.
Joel P. West composed the Shang Chi soundtrack, which enhances the film with an appropriate amount of music.
I think that 12+ would enjoy this movie. It is action-packed and has an exciting story. It includes excellent female leads that are the bosses and blew up with sales when it was released. If you like this film, I would suggest watching other marvel films to get a better understanding of the movie. In the end, I recommend this film and would watch it again.
Music Videos
Drake Knows "God's Plan"
By Cristian Llerena
The "God's Plan" music video is about Drake giving $996,631.90 away to people in need. It also shows that Drake is giving back because he has been highly successful in the music industry. Another message is to be generous. Drake is saying that he could not be as successful as he is without the help of God.
Drake and Antonio Brown, a Steelers receiver, are featured in various parts. The other characters include people on the street or in the market. My favorite character is Drake because he gives money away to people in need.
My favorite part of the video is when he says, "Anything you guys want in the store is free. Whatever you guys want." The video is filled with generosity and joy. Another part I like is when Drake gives $20,000 to the City of Miami Fire Department.
I think the directing is good. The director captured surprising joyous moments. Another thing I like about the video is how the director makes the viewer feel connected to ordinary people. The directing makes the viewer feel happy or emotional.
One thing I would change is him rapping about what he did in the video. Another thing he could have changed was his dancing.
He also could have given to other cities besides Miami.
I would recommend it to other people because the video is vastly inspirational. It is also fun to watch people getting surprised and getting the money they need. Also, it makes other people feel like giving other people less fortunate than themselves.
Try not to Cry
By Benjamin Hacker and Jake Shampansky
The main storyline of "Laugh Now, Cry Later" is Drake and Lil Durk arriving at Nike world HQ in a custom Maybach Mercedes at 12 am. They get there and run around doing many fun activities. After arrival, Drake goes and plays against Kevin Durant (KD) in a basketball 1v1. Next, Drake, his wife and his kids go shopping at the Nike Company Store. Then he plays football with Odell Beckham Jr. (OBJ). Then, he hits a baseball off of a balcony. Next, he does a photoshoot with Lil Durk and Lil Durk starts rapping. While Lil Durk is rapping, he rides jet skies and then rides golf-karts. Then he does MMA underwater. Next, Drake gets dunked on by KD. Lastly, he runs on a treadmill and raps more.
There were many people in this video so here are the main characters. First, there was the main artist Drake, who was doing many activities and rapping really well. Next, there is Lil Durk, the featuring rapper. He has rapped and acted really well. Then there is OBJ and KD who made few appearances but were really good at acting and added a sports element.
My favorite moment was when Drake caught the pass from OBJ just like he did. The catch was my favorite part because I play wide receiver and I always try to recreate OBJ's one-handed catch. The catch is a one-handed catch while falling backward. Overall I really like this scene because both, Drake, and OBJ were really great at acting. I think that this directing was great. One reason that this directing was good is that the location of this video is really great. Nike has lots of things you can do and Drake's video shows use the resources that are available.
I think that a person that likes Drake would like this song. The genre of this music video is action. I would recommend this to others because this is exciting and has many aspects of the video. I would also recommend this to others because there is KD and OBJ. The last reason why I would recommend this to others is that there are people featured that are relatable. Drake's "Laugh Now Cry Later" music video is one of the best I have ever seen.
Ynw Melly Understands Suicidal Feelings
By Jacob Pinchuk
The main storyline of the music video "Suicidal" by Ynw Melly, is about the struggles that not only Ynw Melly [Jamell Demons] has with depression but the whole world. This music video displays Jamell's struggles with depression and suicidal thoughts. The way he blocks these problems out is by drinking an excessive amount of alcohol.
Jamell has recently been accused of a double homicide, this music video portrays his thoughts after getting accused. My favorite part of the music video is when Jamell was writing a letter. Jamell was writing a heartbroken and depressing letter after dealing with a breakup. Then the video shows Jammell on a burning bridge because he really wanted his relationship to work out. Jamell was so sad he did not get off the bridge and accepted the breakup. The directing of the video was great. The reason the directing of the video was great is due to the fact that each second of the video was clear, concise, and corresponded to an overall message. Because the video was animated the director had more control over the acting so it was closer to what the director wanted. The main character Jamell is expressing his feelings in this video. Jamell is a rapper in Florida. Jamel is an African American man in his 20s with dreadlocks, tattoos, and grills in his mouth. He is 5.8 feet and 154 pounds. The only criticism I have for the video is that it should be more realistic. The video was supposed to portray Jammell's thoughts very vividly. The video did not have a realistic setting. I would no doubt recommend this video. I would because people can relate to this video. I would also recommend this video because overall it is a high-quality video. The type of person who would enjoy this video is someone in pain. Someone in pain would enjoy it because it relates to them.
"Happy" Brings Happiness
By Liana Jensen
My music video is "Happy" by Pharrell Williams. The moral is about how to be happy. The music video has people going around looking happy and encouraging their neighbors. Everyone in the music video is super comfortable, and it seems like they do not look like they have another care in the world. The main character is Pharrell Williams, dancing with many other happy-looking people. Everyone seems extremely happy. The acting is good because it does not seem like acting because everyone looks genuinely happy. They all seem to be enjoying themselves. I had no favorite part because I liked the whole music video. This video is entertaining, and a pick me up. I love the entire movie. I would change putting minions in the video. I think they should add minions because it makes people happy. The animated Minions characters are also in the film this song appears in. I would recommend this video because it makes people happy. It also makes everyone dance. When I heard this song around people, they started smiling.
IU's Breathy Voice Makes her Song Shine
By Jion Jung
'BBIBBI' is a song by IU. This song is supposed to celebrate her 10th anniversary and this song is also supposed to send messages to all the haters.
The main character of the music video is IU. IU is Korean. She has black hair and pale skin but, occasionally in the music video, she showed colored braids in her hair. In every moment of the video, IU is wearing colorful and fun outfits. IU is basically the only person in the music video except for a few selected moments. The genre of this music video is k-pop.
This video did not really have a storyline, but it had really strong messages. One of those messages was that you should not be afraid to be different. This music video also really showed what IU as a k-pop singer felt like. This music video ended with IU going into a frame and disappearing, which was so interesting to me.
I did not really have any favorite moments in the video but I liked the part when she was standing on her white balcony and the camera zoomed out to show the other white balconies. I also liked the part when IU had a yellow umbrella while everybody else had a black one because that shows that she is not afraid to be different.
I think the directing of the video was amazing. It must have been really hard to film this music video because during the song, it kept on switching scenes but meanwhile, IU was still singing on cue to the music. She also kept changing outfits during the scenes and the outfits were colorful and vibrant.
I would definitely recommend this music video. I would recommend it because this music video was catchy and it was entertaining to watch. People who enjoy k-pop would enjoy this video. They would enjoy this because this k-pop song music video is extremely catchy and fun to watch. Here is the link to the music video!
Ed Sheeran knows How to Think Outloud
By Miah Jackson
This music video is "Thinking out loud". The main storyline of this video is two people describing how they feel. They danced together and sang with each other. It all started when they were dating and they started to explain how they felt for each other. It was more like a love story, but way more interesting. His main point of this article is to say "One's thoughts so that other people can hear them". The genre of this music video is romance.
The main people in this music video are Ed Sheeran and Brittany Cherry. She is a contestant in an American dance competition. That explains how creative she is as doing good dance moves in this video. In this video, they are dancing and showing affection for each other. In this film, Brittany was wearing a white long dress. She had beachy wavy brown hair. Ed Sheeran wore a formal suit with shirt and pants and he had curly ginger hair.
My favorite part of this video was the romance. They choose perfect lyrics and a good girl to fit the part. She had a pretty dress on. It was extremely eye-tracking. Anyone who loves looking at dresses should totally look at hers.
If I was able to change this film then I would only change one thing about this. I would see if they could add more scenes but I think I know why they did not add any more scenes.
I would recommend this to others. I think that others would enjoy this more if they are into dancing. They could get dancing ideas and if they join a dance team they can use the moves for tryouts. This song can probably give some good advice to a boy on how to treat a girl.
Someone who would like this music video is someone who likes romance. If you like romance then I think that you would be interested in this. People should like this video if they believe "Everyone should be able to be with who they belong with" without other people telling them who they should be with.
Last Friday Night
By Baran Naim
My music video is "Last Friday Night" by Katy Perry. The genre is pop and a bit of romance. This song is about a weird girl who goes to a party and thinks the popular boy is cute. He does not like her, so she gets a makeover. The nerd boy and the popular boy fights for the weird girl now.
The main character in the video is Katy Perry, who plays a "weird nerd" girl wearing braces and headgear.
My favorite moment in this video is at the end. The popular guy looks near the weird girl. She thinks he has looked at her. He then walks up to her, and the mysterious girl gets excited. Sadly, he walks right by her to the pretty popular girl.
I would recommend this song to others. This is a fantastic upbeat song. I can not think of anyone I know that does not like this song. If you like to mosh pits, this song is for you! Most people love this song.
Justin Bieber has Good "Intentions"
By Shira Hoffman
The storyline of the music video, "Intentions" by Justin Bieber is about giving back. In the video, he basically goes to certain neighborhoods that are maybe not as wealthy as others. One of the fans that he met received a car that he bought for the girl. He is basically just giving people things out of kindness. The main characters are Justin, Quavo, (and he has a part in the song), and lastly, the girl who receives the car but her name is not said. I thought the directing and acting were good. The acting is fine it is nothing special but everyone seems really happy. The directing was good too, they did a good job editing. I think the type of person to like this song is a Justin Bieber fan or, someone who likes his music. I do not really think I would change anything about the film. I do not see anything wrong with it. My favorite moment in the film is when the girl receives the car and she starts crying because she had never had a car before.
Heat Waves
By Gabriella Broumandi
In the movie video, "Heat Waves" by Glass Animals, the main character, Dave Bayley is walking around a neighborhood carrying a bunch of radios and TVs. After a while, he gets into the song and sings his heart out. At the last minute, he walks into a train station. He goes on stage and starts singing with his bandmates.
I think that the acting and directing were really good. The song's directing was really well thought out. The acting was also really good because it seemed like everything was real. Overall I really liked the directing and acting. My favorite part of the music video is the ending. To me, the ending is the best part because he sings and he really means it. You can tell by the way he dances that he is really into the song. I really like the music video because of this part.
I think anyone would like this song. If you like romantic songs and songs that have a good beat. I would recommend this song because it is extremely fun and slow. The song has amazing beats that make it amazing. Heat Waves is probably the most repayable song I have heard in years. Something I would change about the music video is the beginning. You have no idea what is going on because all you see is a man carrying a bunch of TVs while he is singing. Overall, I would give Heat Waves five stars.
Justin Bieber Shines in "Baby" from 2010
By Orion Etlinger
In the music video "Baby" by Justin Bieber, he plays a character who has a crush on a girl, played by Jasmine Villegas. The setting of the music video is a bowling alley. Justin Bieber has blonde hair in a sleek side part. One of the two outfits he wears in the music video is a blue multicolored button shirt and black cargo pants. Jasmine Villegas, his love interest, has her beautiful black hair in a side part and is wearing a 2000 typical outfit. Justin tries to win the girl's heart in many ways by stating that he "would buy her anything, would buy her any ring." Eventually, they dance at one point in the video, and those TikTok moves are so cool. I think the acting was terrific. Justin is interested in the girl, while she does not show any interest in him. I think the type of people who would enjoy this song are people who are into action and romance. My all-time favorite scene is the bowling scene when after bowling together, Justin leans in to kiss the girl, and she turns and walks away before he can do so.
