Marvel’s Eternals is a Great movie, its soundtrack is nice to listen to and its storyline and plot have much meaning. It gives you a lot to think about. Every character has so much meaning and a lot to contribute to the story. Every shot they film has the right amount of lighting and great scenery to it, which makes it pleasant to look at. The story makes you mesmerized and makes you think about many things about the characters and the plot. Overall, I think you should see Marvel’s Eternals in theaters whenever you get the chance.

How to Improve Your Google Slides Presentation

By Eden Romero (Staff writer)

Have you ever had to create a Google Slides presentation for a project in class? Chances are that you have, and they have come out dull and lifeless, so this article will demonstrate how to have more fun with your Google Slides.

Font and Text

There are numerous fonts in Google Slides. Clicking on a text box, highlighting the text, and going to the font allows you to change the font. (Tip: go to fonts, more fonts, and choose all the fonts you like, so you can use them later in your presentation and other presentations you create.) Change the color of the text by clicking on it, highlighting it, and clicking the underlined ‘A’. Most teachers will require your name, date, and period to be provided on the first slide, and make sure to add an original title.

Color palette

You can always make your presentation white or choose a template, but choosing your own color palette is much more creative. Change the color of the background of your presentation by clicking ‘background’. You can choose from the selection of colors available, or you can create a custom color by clicking on the plus sign. (Tip: use the gradient option to make the background of your presentation appear less flat.) Change the color of your text by following the steps in the paragraph above. A great way to choose your color palette is by using the website coolors.co, which generates a random but pleasant color palette. You can add the colors into Google Slides by going to the color option that comes up when you edit the background or text, clicking the plus, and copying the hex codes from coolors.co to Google Slides.

Shapes

Shapes make your presentations stand out. Create shapes by clicking the circle and square, clicking what shape you would like to make, and changing the width and length of the shape how you like.

Lines

There are different lines you can choose from on Google Slides. There is line, arrow, elbow connector, curved connector, curve, polyline, and scribble. There is an abundance of ways you can use them, such as using lines to create a grid pattern for the background of your presentation and creating scribbles as a frame for your slides.

Other features

  • Click the “T” to create a text box

  • Click the photo to insert an image, or find an image on Google and copy it to the presentation

  • Click “Layout” to choose what layout you want, or create your own layout by using text boxes and images

  • Click “Theme” to choose a theme you would like, or choose your own colors and fonts

  • Click “Transition” to animate your slides

Tangerine is Worth a Read

By Adam Geller (Staff writer)

Tangerine by Edward Bloor is a book about a boy and his family moving to a place called Tangerine Florida.

Tangerine is a very strange place, the story gets into tangerine’s atmosphere and how it affects Paul’s family. Tangerine is a story about Paul’s family trying to fit into their new home and their new schools and jobs. Paul and his friends have many problems that I can personally relate to because they have a lot of depth to their characters.

I would recommend this book to someone looking for a dark and drama-packed story. The book gives you a lot to think about with what the characters are going through like how much death there is in the story. I would recommend this book to 12+-year-olds.
