Oh the Places You Can Go
By Siena Goldman
In the summertime, there is an endless amount of opportunities for places you can go. You can go to beaches, jungles, or snowy terrains, but either way, there are many places in the world just waiting for you. Travel to the quaint city of London, the chic walks of Paris, and the cobblestone streets of Portugal.
First, one of the top-notch travel destinations in the world is London. From its old-fashioned pubs to its royal homes, this city is full of life. Tourists from all over travel to see all of this. Some cultural foods of London are fish and chips, which is any type of fried fish, and the chips are usually typical french fries. London has sights, but it also has sounds! Throughout the city, you can find musicians and actors on the streets. There are people dressed in costumes and makeup, performers, and guitarists strumming along the cobblestones. This city of delicious cuisine, astounding sights, and beauty to the ears has plenty to offer in terms of travel.
Second, another city of fast pace and excitement is Paris, France. With divine pastries, luxurious shopping, and historical landmarks, it has lots to offer. Some traditional pastries are the famous croissants and baguettes. Croissants have a rich flavor, depending on if it is plain butter, chocolate cream-filled, or almond custard. Baguettes are a great sandwich bread if you're looking for a fresh, crunchy sandwich. They are usually long and thick. A famous landmark of Paris that everyone worldwide can recognize is the Eiffel Tower. With its own park surrounding this beauty, it marks the history and culture of this city. Rides to the top are unforgettable and definitely worth the pay. Overall, Paris has a lot to see and eat!
Lastly, the huge country of Portugal. There is a lot of history to be found, especially in Lisbon, the capital. Luscious seashores, picturesque cobbled streets, and tasty dining are to be found. The main food there is fish, and it changes seasonally. In the summertime, when I was there, the main fish were sardines. Not the canned ones, but the ones fresh but the ocean. There are plenty of fine dining options throughout Lisbon. Another very popular part of history there is the castles and palaces of yore. Elaborate, stone, mountain-top castles. There are all sorts of rides you can take to get to these vast destinations, but the most favored tourist “taxis” are tuk-tuk tours. Tuk-tuk cars are little golf car-like automobiles that are pedaled by the drivers. Depending on the tour, it will usually take you everywhere around the city, from breathtaking views to modern destinations. Portugal is a great vacation location if you are looking for some time away.
All in all, there are many places to travel to during your vacation. You can go anywhere in the world if you wanted to, but these places are my most recommended. There are oh so many places to go- during summer!

Ways to Spend your Time During Summer Break
By Kate Kraynova and Aylin Akdag
A lot of us are really excited about summer break. Well, good news: it’s starting in less than three weeks! Here are some fun things you can do if you don’t have any plans yet:
Make a marathon. It can be you and your friends/family, or you can do it yourself. Search for ideas on social media, or create a new one. It can be anything: a drawing marathon, a sports one, or you can plan out every day to be different.
Reconnect with your old friends or with a relative that you haven’t seen in a while. It can bring up good memories, and it’s important to stay in touch and keep those connections.
Take online courses that have to do with your hobbies. For example, if you like to write, take creative writing courses. As another option, you can just search for videos about the topics that you’re interested in. Or you can improve a school subject that you’re not that good at.
Take a trip to a nearby town/city with your family or friends. Listen to music and talk about stuff that you don’t get time to talk about because of school or work. Also, traveling can help to refresh your mind and see some things from a new perspective. And it's a new experience!
Do a sleepover with your friends. You’ll become closer to each other and spend some quality time. Take pictures & make memories.
Have fun!

Summer Activities
By Shira Hoffman
What are some fun summer activities? Well, there are many. Of course, there is always a vacation, but what if you do not go on vacation? What do you do the whole time? Well, the activities and things to do are endless! Some summer activities are riding bikes, going to the pool, beach, water balloon fights, hanging out with friends, etc. I love summer break because you get to relax and do whatever you want.
One fun thing I forgot to put in there is camp. Camp is so much fun when you do it with your friends, and there are things like sleep away camp, day camp, swim camp, etc. I used to love summer camp. I would go with my friends to swim camp every year since I loved it so much. Now I don’t go as often since I am older, but I remember it always being so much fun.
Another thing I love about summer is it is also a great time to spend with your siblings and family members. We are all so busy during the school year and sometimes don’t get enough time to be with our families, but during summer, everyone is most likely free. So, that makes a great time to be with our families.
Fun Time in the Summer
By Liana Jensen
I always look forward to my summer break. Every year I start my summer countdown on the first week of May. The amount of joy I have told my friends and family about the countdown is impressive, but I want to focus on what I do in the summer and how much fun I have with my family and friends.
My family always has a staycation at the Grafton Hotel in West Hollywood to start my summer. Last summer, my sister and I went on a trip without our parents to Michigan with my uncle to see our family. In Michigan, my family celebrated my grandma's and great-grandma's birthday. My sister and I went to our friend's house (she lives on a lake).
On the lake, we went tubing, water-skiing, and kneeboarding. We always eat pasta and ice cream once we are done playing on the lake. After our time in Michigan, we traveled to Florida, where my otgher grandparents retired. In Florida, we go to the beach and chill at the house, and by the time we get to Florida, my sister and I leave in about two weeks.
Overall, I always look forward to my vacations and staycations in the summer. I especially look forward to it when I get back because we typically go to an amusement park. Do you look forward to summer?
