A Cellphone is a Must
By Gabriella Bromandi
Every kid should have access to a cellphone. Kids are prone to get hurt, and unfortunately, cuts and gashes can happen everywhere. Let's say that you are on a bike ride by yourself, and there is a rock in front of you that you do not see. Your bike flips, and you land in a thorn bush. Since no one is around, how will you get help? Fortunately, if you have a phone, you can call for help.
Moreover, it is tough to keep in touch with our friends if you do not have a phone. Right now, we are stuck at home in quarantine. We have not seen our friends in months. From kids to great-grandmas, we need to stay in touch. Let's say that you live by yourself and you are lonely. Phones are always there to help us communicate with one another. My best friend Shana and I call each other every day and talk about school, the kids in our classes, and more. A couple of weeks ago, we planned to go hiking on a trail. We did not know where Shana's family was when we got there, so we asked them to send their location through their phone. They did, and we finally found them in a completely different parking lot. If they did not have a phone, we would be roaming around the park, not knowing where they were.
One of the best things about cell phones is that they come with cameras. You can make new memories by taking photos of things. The next time you go on a vacation as a family, you and your siblings should take pictures and keep them forever. Instead of sulking around looking bored, you can look for chances to take photos. You can not only take pictures, but you can edit them. You can make the pictures with different filters, crop them, and rotate each one the way you like it. It is enjoyable to take additional photos and make them seem more dramatic or funny.
Deciding whether you want a phone or not is a hard decision to make; therefore, knowing all the reasons why you should have a phone, the choice might be more accessible. Carrie Underwood once said, "My cell phone is my best friend. It's my lifeline to the outside world." Everyone should have an iPhone, so stop what you are doing and get your phone today.
Looking at Your Phone While Walking: No Way
By Miah Jackson
Do you think that people should be able to use their phones while walking across the street? Although texting and driving usually are more serious, walking occurs more often. Research shows that accidents involving distracted pedestrians are on the rise. The Ohio State University says 1.500 distracted pedestrians were treated in hospitals due to 2010. Studies found that sixteen to twenty-five years olds have been victims of walking distractions.
When people get distracted on their phones they bump into walls, fall downstairs, bump into others or step into traffic. People say the reason why this happens is that some people just can not seem to walk without doing something with their mobile devices. Experts say that people get hurt while texting, talking to their friends, or listening to music.
Some advice that you could do while crossing the street is
Putting your phone down: If you are walking with your cell phone to your face that shows that you are not on full alert with what is going on around you. Suggest just keeping your phone in your backpack or purse so you are not tempted to use it
No headphones: If you wear headphones those cause you from hearing things around you. For example, if it was an emergency you wouldn't be able to heat the alerts or signals. The best time to use headphones is if you are at the gym working out or while you are at home cleaning. Those places are headphone safe

Plagiarism is Illegal So Don't Do It
By Adriana Hakimian
Some people do not take this seriously enough. They think a copy and paste will not do anything, that it will not hurt anyone. It does affect the people that wrote their own words, and then you are the one that acts like it is your article or evidence on your paper that your teacher assigned. Using other people's work is not correct. Looking and researching their work and then using it as your work is also not proper. Some people think plagiarism is a joke and that nobody cares. People that publish it care. It is their work you are stealing, and dire consequences happen. Do not be the one who is stealing others' info.
People that think that it is the wrong thing to do are right. The people who do not plagiarize are people who research others' work and thank them for the hard work that they worked on and do not use as their own. Researching and finding information is fine; websites and articles are for. You can use it, but you will need to put it in your own words; quoting is an easy way not to do plagiarism. Do not forget to cite your evidence on where you got it from.
Respect your work and the work of others. Give credit where credit is due. Imagine someone taking credit for your work. How would you feel? Treat people the way you want to be treated.
TikTok Trends Are Dangerous
By Gabriella Broumandi
There have been many prevalent TikTok challenges like passing the phone, but some have terrible repercussions. The amount of TikTok challenges put many in the hospital, like the cinnamon challenge and the tide pod challenge. The worst part is that many young kids that have an account on TikTok do the same thing.
One of the worst trends on TikTok was the Tide Pod challenge. This challenge started as a joke, but many began to do it. The challenge was to eat a tide pod. A tide pod has many harmful chemicals, which are not suitable for your health. There have been around 750 hospitalizations but only eight deaths in just a few years.
Another trend on TikTok was the Cinnamon challenge. The Cinnamon challenge was when you would swallow a tablespoon full of cinnamon in less than sixty seconds. Many have had to be hospitalized because consuming too much cinnamon makes your mouth very dry, resulting in suffocation. You also can start choking if the cinnamon clumps in the airway. Today there have been over 3,000 reported deaths from this challenge.
Finally, the skull breaker challenge is dangerous and can lead to serious injury. This is by far one of the worst stunts that someone can pull. In this challenge, two people jump and tell another person to jump between them. Then the two on either end kick the shins of the person jumping in the middle and leaving the person in the middle to fall headfirst. This challenge alone has caused many deaths and a lot of hospitalizations.
While TikTok videos might be an outlet after a long hard day at work or school, it is worse than you think. You will be okay if you don’t watch. It is the wrong side. Overall, make sure that you don’t watch this kind of content.
Disneyland vs. Legoland
By Miah Jackson
Since I have never been to Disneyland, I do not have very much experience of what it's like. Going to Legoland once I do have experience. Legoland was great. My sister and I went for the first time on our tenth birthday. I enjoyed it. Now people might prefer Disneyland better because Legoland is “Kiddish ''.
According to shermanstravel.com the price of not including the waterparks starts at $96 for adults and $90 for kids for one day. In Disneyland, you might want to stay for at least two days. The tickets start at $225 for adults and $210 for kids 3-9.
In Disneyland, you get two parks in one, their original park has all the classic rides. They have rides such as Pirates of the Caribbean, Haunted Mansion, and Its small world. At Legoland, there are 12 different areas as well as their waterparks and aquarium.
The best thing about Legoland is they have water parks while Disneyland does not , so if you are thinking of going somewhere with a water park, Legoland is the best way to go.
The bottom line is Legoland's lines are not as long and there are not massive crowds. They have play areas and interactive rides for little ones, however, teens may become bored of it. Anyone over seven would most likely enjoy Disneyland. It has the most classic rides and thrilling attractions. When you take your little ones that ride may be scary such as the ghost and pirates. They might have fun if they can meet their favorite Disney characters. If you bring your little one then it would be a long walk back to the car when they get tired.

Should phones be allowed in school?
By Miah Jackson
According to a 2010 Pew Research Center study shows 65% of cell-owning teens bring their phones to school, despite any bans in that area. Most schools now allow cell phones as long as there off so they can distract from class. Bringing phones to school does have pros and cons. Today we are going to learn about those different things.
Some people may say that children should be allowed to bring their phones to school just in case of an emergency. But the problem with that is because you could use the school's phones, and If there is a mass shooting or any specific shooting the families can be in connection with their child. Also, they can help people stay in touch, for example, if they are looking to see who is picking them up then they can use their phone. Usually, there could be a lot of traffic in the pickup line so they would need to figure it out or they are going to have to wait forever for the person to finally get in the front of the line.
The reason why children shouldn't be allowed to bring their phones to school is that first, they cause distraction. Most students forget to turn their phones off before getting to school or before class starts. Cell phones can be used for bullying, for example, kids take negative pictures of other students and post them all around social media.
Lastly, they could bring their phone to school but they shouldn't take them out until the end of the day.

Lose Yourself in Fairytales
By Siena Goldman
Traditional fairy tales have been a source of inspiration and innovation for about 6,000 years (theguardian.com). Fairy tales in general are a great way to be whisked away by magical places and characters, to be taught valuable lessons, and can even be a form of medicine. This is why in my opinion, fairy tales are the best stories.
First, fairy tales are the best stories because they take you away from your troubles. You can get lost in these magical tales. They offer a place of comfort by spinning wondrous stories of characters in unreal settings. These characters can have a wide variety of personalities, from good and kind to evil and mischievous, but they are comforting either way because they can really be about anything. It gives a sense of imagination and inspiration by adding mystical additions, including dragons, fairies, elves, wizards, witches, and animated creatures. These creations are all derived from cultures and traditions and placed in these stories to add flavor and life.
Second, fairy tales teach valuable lessons. Not all of them do, but most stories have the same type of manner: the good always wins against the bad. This inspires people to be good so they can win in their own kinds of “battles”. These morals are taught without children even knowing it because of such unreal characters. It distracts the children with entertainment to make them listen, while also teaching them all sorts of lessons. Essential concepts such as not lying, kindness will always win, courage, and more are all hidden within these tales.
Lastly, fairy tales can be, in some ways, a form of medicine. Stress, mental illness, physical illness, and more can be extremely hard to deal with. But fairy tales can heal these. They are usually filled with such wildly written ideas and concepts that they can take you away from trouble. It is so entertaining that they can make you forget about your pain. They offer a sort of portal to a vast setting where kindness is rewarded and courage is a necessary quality.
In conclusion, fairy tales are the best stories because they take you away from your troubles, they teach essential lessons, and they have medicinal ways of healing you. No wonder they have been around for so long!
Public School vs. Private School
By Adriana Hakimian
There are two different schools in the United States: public school and private school, and nobody is sure which is better. In this essay, I will be discussing private schools and public schools.
Public School: Ninety Percent of schools in the United States are public schools. The best thing everyone likes about it is that they are paid by taxes, so they are free to all students. All public school teachers must be certified to teach, and complaints about their actions are taken seriously. Public schools have larger classes with more students and have programs for special needs students so it helps them improve their education. People attending public schools also do not have to wear uniforms.
Private School: Ten percent of private schools in the United States. There is tuition to enroll in and most private schools are really expensive! Teachers are paid by tuition, and they do not need certificates. Private Schools have smaller classes with fewer students. They have a regular daily basis but no special programs. Private Schools have to wear uniforms because they think that some kids can bully what the person is wearing.
Which is Better? An iPhone or an Android Phone
By Shira Hoffman
Are you an iPhone owner or an Android phone owner? I am an iPhone owner who believes they are way better. Android phones are ugly. Apple's iOS is a closed ecosystem, which means that Apple manufactures both operating systems and hardware, and no other company uses either of them to integrate with their services. It gives Apple an edge over Android by providing a better synchronization between hardware and software.
Why are Android phones worse? Android is an extensive operating system that uses many resources, and some standard applications even come with the operating system. Therefore lower specification smartphones run slowly. Whenever you load many applications on these machines, your cell phone can become reactive or overheat quickly.
In conclusion, my opinion is that iPhones are better than Androids, and I think that I will be an iPhone owner for a very long time.
Bathroom Sign-Out
By Shira Hoffman
Do you like having to sign out to use the bathroom at school? It is not very pleasant, and the amount of time we are in the bathroom isn't anyone's business.
When we sign out, we put the time that we leave, and when we sign in, we set the time we come back. This is annoying because some teachers might expect us to take no more than 3-5 minutes, while others watch the clock when we leave. I left to use the bathroom in one of my elective classes and returned six minutes later, yet the teacher claimed I was gone for fifteen minutes. This was when I liked signing in and out because you could see when I left and came back. I showed the teacher this, and he said it was too long.
That is the only proof of signing in and out because I could show him I was only gone for a little bit of time. The reason I am so against signing in and out is that when you put a timer on someone to use the bathroom (which is something we need to do and cannot control), you put stress on that person that if they are not back by a specific time, then they will get in trouble. I know I have felt this way before.
This might be my opinion, but, in my opinion, signing in and out is truly unnecessary, and the amount of time we use in the bathroom should be the least of a teacher's worries.
Some Students do not Like the CAASPP
By Shira Hoffman
I hate testing and I think it is completely unnecessary. I also feel that most students in California feel the exact same way. I also am aware that all of my friends feel just like me about CAASPP testing.
I asked other students how they felt and for the most part, they stated that the CAASP score should not determine if students can level up to honors and that the test itself is not fair since it keeps getting harder as you progress through the questions. Since no grade is given to students to take it, I question why we have to submit to a week of testing every day?
In conclusion, CAASPP stresses out everyone and in my opinion, it is the most unnecessary thing on this planet. If I could change anything in the state of California it would be CAASPP testing because it is that bad.
Oh the Horror
By Kate Kraynova and Aylin Akdag
Have you ever thought about the impacts of horror video games on you? Is it good or bad for overall health? You might think that the genre of horror affects our nervous system in unpleasant ways, but surprisingly, that is not true. Here are a few reasons why horror games are good for you:
Horror games help with relieving stress and improving mood. Every time you get scared, your brain produces many hormones called dopamine, glutamate, and serotonin. These hormones are known as happy hormones: they boost your mood.
Horror games help with coping with unknown situations. Sometimes, those situations might be fast, like when you are running from a screamer, and need to find a way out or hide.
Horror games can improve your immune system. White cells are being produced while playing horror games, and white cells help with improving the overall immune system.
Now go and play some horror games!
Do Not Buy from Shein
By Gabriella Broumandi
Many say that Shein is a bad place to buy clothing while others think it is the opposite. In my opinion, I don't think that it is the best option. A few reasons I think this is because of the bad quality, the amount of time it takes to get delivered, and they have a bad impact on the environment.
The first reason that I think Shien is bad is because of the low quality of the clothing. When I ordered from the brand, the shirt ripped the moment I put it on. Another time I bought a necklace and after one day of wearing it, it got completely ruined.
My friends have told me stories about times that they ordered rings from Shien and they made their fingers green! In the end, it is obvious that the quality of Shein clothing and jewelry is terrible.
The next reason that Shein is not a good place to buy clothing is that it takes weeks to ship. Once I ordered a pair of shorts from Shein for the summer. It took more than a month to come and when it finally did, it was missing a button! I would not even wear it. Once my aunt bought from Shein and she told me that the clothing took more than three months to finally arrive.
Finally, my last reason that you should not buy from Shein is because they have a huge impact on the environment. A website called Good on You, rates many stores that sell fashion. They gave Shein a very low grade on environmental impact. Shien is very bad for the environment as it is for everyone in it.
Should You take a Foreign Language in Middle School?
By Liana Jensen
Should I take a foreign language class in middle school? My answer is maybe.
I am in French 1a this year. I know that a big benefit from starting language in sixth grade is you have a chance to get into the 3rd level in 9th grade. Learning another language is good for your brain and it gives you an advantage in high school in terms of coming in knowing the language. However, one disadvantage is that you need two years of language to graduate, but doing three years earns you one year towards graduation. However, doing two years gets you one year towards graduation.
Schools Should be Divided by Gender
By Kate Kraynova and Aylin Akdag
Are single-gender schools better for students? First of all, what are single-gender schools? They are schools that only allow a specific gender to attend their schools. From the 1960s to the 70s, those schools were common.
The majority of the schools are private schools, and a few are public. So which are better, mixed-gender schools or single-gendered schools? For girls, according to the National Coalition of Girls’ Schools graduates of all-girls schools are more successful and often perform better academically than girls from mixed-gender schools. In all-girls schools, many students can connect, support each other, and feel more comfortable.
For all-boys schools, according to Matt Albert “In single-gender schools, boys are often more willing to take risks because they don’t feel the fear of failing in front of the other sex.” Showing that students in all-boys schools have more comfortable environments, less gender stereotyping, and they can learn at their own pace.
Overall, single-gendered schools are better.
Fast Fashion
By Kate Kraynova and Aylin Akdag
Fast fashion is cheap clothing that relies on trends. It started about twenty years ago. Fast fashion encourages people to buy cheap clothes and then throw them away after a few wears. Because of that, they use cheap materials like polyester, polyurethane, rayon, spandex, nylon, and so on, but here is the thing: fast fashion is one of the world’s largest polluters, and that is scary. Some of the fast-fashion brands harm animals by using fur, leather, and wool directly. Moreover, some fast fashion productions exploit workers who work without human rights in a very dangerous environment, and the workers do not even get paid enough, so it is all up to us. Here are a bunch of non-fast fashion brands you can shop from Pact, Kotn, VETTA, Quince, Sézane, Reformation, ADAY, Outerknown, ABLE, and more.
Why School Should Start Later
By Rocco Taylor
Do you think school should start later? Orian and I believe that it should start half an hour later, and we have a plethora of reasons why we think this.
To begin with, it helps kids have more energy for the school day. This will improve the way the kids learn, and the students will not be tired, “starting school later gives students more time to meet their sleep needs, resulting in better grades, mood, health, and more.”
To continue, not getting enough sleep at a young age affects the brain's function and development. If students get the proper amount of sleep it will improve their memory and learning capabilities. If students get better sleep it will help them process the information that they acquire. If school started later it would cause fewer behavioral problems for students. When teens are getting older, they experience mood swings, and lack of sleep worsens these traits, especially outbursts, sleep-deprived students are the ones who mostly experience anxiety, stress, and especially lack of motivation, and in some cases depression, so giving these students an extra 10-30 minutes of sleep can improve their education and grades rapidly.
Next, if school started later, kids would have more time to eat breakfast and if they are starving they are less likely to be focused and concentrate in class. Breakfast is a key factor if you want to have good grades. Studies show that without breakfast students are less likely to concentrate and have grades. Also, I can not imagine a kid who would not want to have time for a bigger breakfast.
What School Means To Me
By Gabriella Broumndi
School is a crucial part of many lives since it gives us a chance to have a better future. Beverly Vista is a school of options for a better future since I have excellent teachers who love to teach. Many people do not realize how much school matters. So many people go to school by boats, bridges, and long walks. They do so much just to get educated for two to three hours. In L.A, we get to drive to school and get five to six hours of school time.
As you can see, we have so many benefits other people do not have. Kids all around the globe do not get the best learning materials or the best teachers, especially during quarantine. At Beverly Vista, we have access to particular apps like IXL, Google Classroom, Renaissance, and much more. Our school gives us a personal Google account paid for by the district that provides us with access to many learning apps. We should be so grateful that we live and go to school in Beverly Hills. Benjamin Franklin once said, “An investment in knowledge pays the best interest.”
The Number 1 Candy in the World
By Shira Hoffman
What is the best candy? In my opinion, the best candy is Reeses. I think this because Reeses are really good but also because I love peanut butter and chocolate.
Well, the number one most selling candy in the world is Snickers. The Snickers bar, made by Mars Inc., was named after the Mars family's favorite horse.
The average American kid's favorite candy are Reeses, M&Ms, Skittles, Snickers, Sour Patch Kids, KitKat, Twix, and the Hershey bar are their favorite candies because “They taste good and make us happy.” What more could a kid ask for?
As it turns out, there's power in classics. The most popular candies in America in 2020 were Peanut M&M's and M&M's, the company shared with Travel + Leisure, accounting for more candy sold by weight on the site. Those picks were followed by Reese's, Hershey's, and (the sometimes controversial) Twizzlers.
In conclusion in my opinion Reeses is the best but who am I to judge.
Do You Need Homework for the Purpose of Learning?
By Kate Kraynova and Aylin Akdag
Do you need homework in order to learn? A lot of the students right now are probably screaming “no”, but let us talk about both the cons and the pros, and yes, you might be surprised, but homework does have pros.
On one side, too much homework can put a lot of stress on students and can cause health problems such as headaches and weight loss. In some cases, you really just have to go and talk to your teacher about the amount of homework they give you if it affects your physical health. Other than that, homework takes a lot of time from our day: the statistics say that an average student spends about four hours on their homework a day, but let us look at the pros now.
Studies show that with homework the student will more likely have good grades and test results. Moreover, (you might not realize it) homework helps students develop their life skills. Think about it: throughout the years you get homework and learn how to organize yourself which is really important, you learn basic study habits, tips, tricks, and time management.
Considering these things, we can point out the final thoughts: too much homework is never good for you, but if you know how to control your time- homework should not take that much time from your personal life.
The Bad Side of Video Games
By Gabriella Broumandi
Did you know that video games harm you? Many people play video games but do not know if they are good or bad. Video games hurt kids. They can cause violence and health issues, and they are a waste of valuable free time.
The most damaging effect that video games have on kids is violence. Kids reiterate the actions that they see on the TV. Most people who commit illegal acts have played violent video games before, which matters because it shows that the people who play violent video games are more likely to become criminals. Overall, video games can expose and cause a lot of violence.
Next, when playing video games is a waste of time. Yet, almost 150 million people in the United States play video games for at least three hours per week. Instead of doing homework, people are too busy playing video games. According to Medicine News, over 150 million people in the United States play video games for at least three hours, proving that video games will keep on taking over kids' lives. If kids play video games for too long, they will not be able to face the real world. Overall, video games have no benefits.
What are the Pros and Cons of Social Media for Kids?
By Gabriella Broumandi
Many young kids today have social media, but is it good or bad? Many studies have shown that social media can cause many adverse effects, but it also has some positives.
To start, a pro of social media is communication. When young kids have social media, they have an outlet for the world. They can try to talk to whoever they want and meet new people, which brings up a stranger danger. While meeting new people is impressive, it can also lead to meeting not-so-great people. Many kids watch millions of videos from different creators. What the creators may say or do may affect a young kid. If it is terrible, the kid may try to replicate what he sees on the screen and do it at home or school.
Next, another pro that can come out of social media is taking pictures and showing them to people online. Let’s say that you were bored on a Sunday afternoon and had nothing to do. Then you remember a post that your friend posted when she was at an amusement park. Since you liked how it looked, you decided that you wanted to go. After school, many students hang out together and post videos on their stories or feeds. If a friend not a part of the gathering sees this, they may feel left out, leading to depression, and the student can feel excluded. Unfortunately, many young kids have to go through this.
Lastly, a pro of social media is that you can communicate with your friends. You can post a few things on your social media telling them you will be at a fair this afternoon or go on a Ferris wheel at a carnival. A con to this is that everyone can see this. I recommend putting your accounts private to ensure that anyone who can see what you post is someone you know and not a creepy guy trying to follow you everywhere.
Overall, social media has its pros and cons, and now you know some.
Should screen time be limited for students?
By Adriana Hakimian
Screen time should not be limited for students. They are stressed out by school already. Why not let them relax for a while? Parents expect them to come home and do more work (Homework). They ask, "Did you do your homework?" "You are always on your phone." The reality is that they do not know how hard we work in school. There should be no limitation to letting your children relax.
Now, you may wonder if students sometimes reflect on their bad grades, so they should have less screen time, but they are still trying. Screen time does not remember students' screen time. They like to relax. Being on their phone the whole day may not be ok. Do not rush them out, but ask if they have any homework. They have had a very long day. They have learned so much. Even if they have plenty of reading and missing assignments, help them out. They may be struggling.
Now that you have read this, let your student be on their phone as much as possible! You don't know how hard they have worked. Some parents are setting a screen limit which is their choice, but you do not even know what they did all day..
No Phones While Driving-Ever
By Miah Jackson
Have you ever thought about what it would be like if people did not use their phones while driving? Well, cell phones distract people from trying to focus on the road, and if there were no phones then that would help people interact with people around them.
One reason why people should not be allowed to use their phones while driving is because it could cause a lot of accidents. According to edgarsnyder.com approximately 660,000 drivers that attempted to use their phones behind the wheel have gotten into some sort of accident. One in four accidents are caused when texting or driving.
Cell phone use causes deaths. People are killed every day in distracted driving incidents. The majority of drivers who use cell phones while driving are between sixteen and twenty- four. As a result, using mobile phones leads to 1.6 million crashes.
Overall most drivers don't get distracted by just being on their phones. It could be even expanded to other things, such as adjusting the radio, eating, drinking, Rubbing their pets, fixing their hair, or doing their make-up. Also, be safe on the road even if you are not the driver.

All Schools Should Have Bullying Awareness Programs
By Gabriella Broumandi
While many schools say that they are against bullies, and will do anything to stop them, not many do. Unfortunately, many teens are getting bullied while on Social Media, at school, or even at a local Starbucks.
Schools do not realize how much of an effect bullying has on kids. All around Earth kids are getting harassed because of what they wear or what they say. A friend of mine once told our class that he is saving up money to buy a pair of shoes that cost $150. Then he showed them a photo of the shoes. Everyone burst with laughter. They were a dark orange with the inside white. For the rest of fifth grade, everyone called him “orange shoes”. Not many people realized that this made him depressed. You can not blame him though, imagine that this happened to you. How would you feel?
Sometimes kids do not want to go to school because they are afraid that they will be mocked by their classmates. If my school had a program to stop bullying then this would change. Instead of students dreading coming to school in the morning, they would look forward to a day of school where they will not be afraid to hide their interests.
Overall, I feel that schools should have a bullying awareness program so that students do not feel left out.
Beauty Pageants Should Be Banned
By Miah Jackson
Beauty pageants have been around since the 1960s to become a part of the U.S culture. Originally it was created for ages thirteen and seventeen, but they have grown to include toddlers and babies.
Beauty contests have been shown to affect the contestant's self-esteem. They create young children to hate their appearance and become obsessed with perfection. They cause body dysmorphia, eating disorders, depression, and other mental health problems. The two main eating disorders are anorexia and bulimia.
Beauty pageants are teaching young children to focus on beauty and attitude and less on their education. It is not helping them be themselves. When they get older, of course, they are going to be rich but they are going to be spoiled. It is taking away their childhood and it can lead to abuse.
As you can see beauty pageants are bad for all ages but adults have the right to stand their ground if they don't want their kids to be in beauty pageants. The parents spoiled their kids enough and the child forced and pushed the parents to sign them up for a pageant.

Teachers Do a Lot, for Less Pay
By Miah Jackson
People might think that teachers get paid more than other staff in the whole school but that is wrong. Most teachers get paid less than administrators and district office employees. Most teachers that get paid teach at University or college, High school teachers, Special Education, Primary students, school and career counselors, and sometimes middle school teachers. The average teacher salary is $16.05 per hour in the United States.
One reason why teachers should get paid more is that they might teach more than one class. For example, a teacher majored in Music education and became an orchestra teacher. There are not enough teachers in some schools, and they should get paid for those extra hours.
Another reason why teachers should get paid more is that they sometimes spend money on things that the school can not afford which becomes very unbelievable. Students should bring their own supplies to school every day while most do not, and teachers have to pay extra money just because their students did not bring their supplies to school.
Lastly, if teachers get paid higher salaries, that would attract more candidates for the job, increase students' grades, and inspire students' dreams of being a teacher.

Switch Your Phones to Dark Mode
By Kate Kraynova and Aylin Akdag
The dark mode on a cell phone is better than the light mode. Dark mode, also known as night mode, is a display for screens that uses a darker background with white/gray text. Dark mode was created to reduce light emitted from cellphones. When dark mode was first released, it was commonly used by programmers who wanted to reduce the glare from the screen.
So why is it better than light mode? While doing activities like reading, light mode tires eyes easily while dark mode does not.
In which cases is dark mode superior? Dark mode allows people with visual disorders to perform efficiently, dark mode also improves visibility in bright rooms. Dark mode releases less blue light, which reduces eye fatigue and dry eyes. Blue light makes your brain think it's day by blocking a hormone called melatonin. Melatonin is the hormone that causes you to feel sleepy and eventually fall asleep.
Since light mode has more blue light, light mode users have more trouble going to bed. In conclusion, dark mode is better than light mode.
Higher Pay is Overdue

Should teachers be getting paid more? Most Definitely! Most teachers have to use their own money to get things for their classroom/students. Although teachers have their own money they need more money.
Teachers can significantly impact a child's life. Students need a huge education if they want to become very successful business people in the medical field. Teachers help a student’s mindset grow. Without having a higher pay teachers don’t have the energy or the want to teach. Although it is not up to the principals, the principals should talk to the board of education. Most principals even notice the teachers' pay is a problem.
Students believe teachers should be paid more because they invest a lot of time at school and invest a lot of time creating classwork.
Teachers should be paid more because they do a lot more than someone would think. Even if you do not like a teacher just remember they do a lot for you and can lead to some of your success.
