BVMS Football Season
By Jordana Danielpour
The BVMS 6th grade football team was exhilarating and fun, providing great physical activity and discipline.
As a player on the team, I found it an extraordinary and immersive experience. The team was Undefeated and ended the season on a good note. Students got the discipline and play they needed and wanted while still being able to collaborate and construct a bond with their friends and the coaches. Everyone on the team got to show people their talent and what they were made of.
Coach Nate and Coach Sarge were indeed helpful and great coaches. They will encourage us to be the best we can be and are a big part of why our team was undefeated. They were well organized with the lineup and ensured that each individual was recognized and noticed for what they were explicitly good at. Being on the team also enabled each player to gain confidence, belief, and faith that can and will help them through hardships and challenges.
I recall when a specific player, Jeronimo Barbara, ran a route and caught a ball on the opponent's head. It was a great play from the team, and there was significant participation and collaboration between the player and his teammates. Not only did it help our team succeed and win that game but gave him the strength to cherish and have the moment, as did others who motivated and cheered him on the team. It felt like we all got that victory and that courage to try to achieve and pursue plays and activities as he did.
Being on the football team enabled me to make significant contributions and participate. We practiced two days a week after school for about an hour and a half. We mainly focused on specific drills that helped us understand and follow the specific defense and offense drills and activities to persuade and use them in the game honestly. Some players got these hand-wrist bracelets that had labeled plays and routes for the players to follow in the game, be focused, and learn the plays without hesitating. The game made room for improvement every time we practiced these drills so that the team and I could perfect and master them.
In conclusion, being on the football team was a unique and immersive experience. I was honored to play on it, as were the other devoted players and teammates. I got to construct memories and friendships with teammates and coaches and gain confidence and integrity within myself and the team. It was a fun and exhilarating experience that helped me as a football player and as a person in general.
Cricket
By Andrew Azizollahi
Cricket is the second-most popular sport worldwide and one of the most entertaining. Two teams of eleven players play it. One side uses a bat to hit a ball to score runs, while the other team tries to bowl and field the ball to stop the other team from scoring.
Cricket has a long and interesting history, starting in England. People began playing in 1611, with the first mention in a dictionary that year. Cricket became popular in London, and it started picking up speed in nearby areas. Women's cricket also began in Surrey in 1745. The rules written in 1744 and 1774 also changed with new ideas like lbw and a straight bat. The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) was formed in 1787 to manage these rules. In the US, cricket started to become very popular, with twenty-two states playing it at the time, and by the 2000s, there were almost two billion fans worldwide.
Cricket tournaments are exciting competitions where teams from different countries play against each other. It is an exciting sport where people cheer for their favorite teams or country. The Cricket World Cup happens every four years and is essential to many people. There is also the T20 World Cup, which is faster and more intense. In some other countries, there are leagues like the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the Big Bash League (BBL), where teams compete for fame and prizes.
Cricket is a great sport, and many people play it to exercise, make friends, and have fun. You can play sometime at some parks, which is a great way to have fun while practicing your reflexes, which can also be helpful for many other sports. If you were to sign up for a league and have never played, I recommend you get some friends to play with you to enjoy the sport together. It would be great to practice and learn with someone else. Even if nobody you know is interested in playing cricket, talk to someone in the community because many sources say the people who play are pretty friendly and easy to talk to. To conclude, cricket is a great sport.

Water Polo
By Kyla Bijari
Have you ever heard about the sport of water polo?
Water polo was invented in 1936 by William Wilson. It was made in the mid-19th century in England. William Wilson (the creator of water polo) was a British journalist, swimming instructor, and coach. He was also the author of The Swimming Instructor, one of the earliest books on swimming.
Water polo is a competitive team sport played in water between two teams of seven players. The game consists of four quarters, during which the teams attempt to score goals by throwing the ball into the opposing team's goal. The team with the most goals at the end of the game wins the match.
The size of the water polo ball is almost the same as that of a soccer ball or a volleyball. A Water Player is allowed to make three serious fouls called ejections. The average water polo player swims 1,600 meters in a game (28 minutes).
In conclusion, I hope you learned more about water polo and may even try it out.
Benefits of Swimming
By Ashton Amirianfar
Swimming, a globally popular activity, offers a host of benefits. It's not just a sport but also a natural survival instinct. Learning to swim can start as early as six months old and can take a short or long time, depending on the individual. Besides being a fun way to beat boredom, swimming is an excellent form of exercise, promoting cardiovascular health and overall fitness.
The human body has a survival instinct in water; that method is that if you lie on your back, you are buoyant to water. There are many ways to learn swimming. Some ways are going to swimming classes, learning independently, or having one of your parents throw you into the water and see if you can swim. I recommend the first one because it is the safest way to swim, and that is how I learned to swim. Plenty of swimming academies range from a price of about 30-200 dollars per session, depending on the academy and where you live.
Swimming is a fantastic sport, especially for high school students. It's easy to learn, and the fun factor is unbeatable. If your school offers a swimming class, I highly recommend it. Swimming keeps your heart rate up and helps alleviate stress on your body, making it a perfect choice for a high school sport.
In conclusion, I hope you enjoyed reading my article and want to try swimming.

Popular Pickleball
By Mielle Bitton
Pickleball. What is pickleball? All you know about it is that it is like mini tennis. Pickleball is a sport that is played a lot but is never noticed. It has always been covered by tennis or badminton. Give pickleball a chance.
Pickleball was invented in the summer of 1965. It was invented by a group of neighbors on Bainbridge Island, Washington. The brilliant inventors included Joel Pritchard, Bill Bell, and Barney McCallum. They were looking for a fun game but needed all the badminton equipment. They then got some ping pong rackets and used an old badminton court. Then they lowered the next to the height of a tennis net and started playing. The rest is history.
Pickleball equipment is pretty simple. A real court measures 20 by 44 feet for both singles and doubles matches. These are very closely related to a doubles court for badminton. The pickleball net is 34 inches high at its center and 36 inches high at the sides of the court. The players are meant to use paddles that are solid and smooth. Those are most likely made of wood or composite materials. Pickleball has many rules, so if you are considering playing it, check out Britannica. They have some information about pickleball, like I shared with you.
Now that you know more about pickleball, you can try it yourself. Have fun and enjoy. The thing you have to remember is to have fun. Also, I would go over the rules because there is a bunch.

Luckily, people of different ages, from kids to adults, have participated in golf. The famous places where golf is played are country clubs. Immaculate and beautiful environments allow individuals to be safe and calm while basking in nature.
Many need to learn where gold originated, how it was played first, and how it evolved. Golf originated in Scotland, in a park near the Royal Capital of Edinburgh. At that time, there was less advanced technology or material than we have today. So players would try to put a pebble over dunes and all over tracks, acquiring a bent stick or club. Throughout the 15th century, Scotland prepared to protect itself again against being conquered by the Auld rival. Although the empire's optimistic pursuit of gold guided multiple individuals to slack off or ignore their military warfare training and drills, the Scottish Parliament of King James 11 prohibited or forbade athletic activity in 1457.
You can watch golf on channels and platforms like Hulu, ESPN, live TV, and more. While watching Gold, you can also notice the many famous, legendary gold stars like Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, Bobby Jones, and many more. Golf has become more diverse and open-minded, from older white men to women, African Americans, and more. While watching gold tournaments or games, you can observe and learn specific, efficient techniques and methods to be more successful with your strokes and become a better gold player.
In conclusion, golf is a popular sport that has evolved with the joining of new cultures and genders. Golf is a relaxing and de-stressing sport or physical activity. It can be played in many beautiful natural and geographical environments and locations worldwide, including Los Angeles, with the multiple country clubs they provide. Golf originated in Scotland in the 15th century, and many individuals, players, and athletes should and are thankful for how it was constructed and changed. Overall, golf is an extraordinary sport; you should try it out because you would miss out if you did not.

Dance
The Art of Ballet
By Mazu Rakhsha
Ballet is one of the most effortless sports we know today for those on the outside looking in. Most people visualize a ballerina gliding on pointe at the thought of ballet, moving her limbs with painless delicacy while smiling softly through the entire performance. This is nothing like the intense physical exertion of competitive swimming, basketball, or soccer–right? Ironically, ballet's " effortlessness " makes ballet training even more internally and externally challenging for dancers. To toil and disguise it all with dainty movements and a sweet smile takes immense talent and training that only a few possess. However, the effort put into ballet is consistently rewarded by producing graceful beauty through dance.
Historically, ballet has always been viewed as a luxury, with its first appearance during the Italian Renaissance, where dancing and music were entertainment enjoyed by royalty and nobility. Around the 16th century, Italian noblewoman Catherine de Medici promoted dance training for nobles, providing financial support for the newfound art of ballet. However, this art was only accessible to the court and nobility to perform and watch, creating a sport fueled by privilege. Nowadays, while ballet training is open to all, the financial strains it causes due to the expensive nature of ballet outfits and equipment, dance lessons, and eventually the scanty salaries of professional ballet dancers leave little room for those without financial privilege to interact with the sport. However, with the decrease of explicit efforts to restrict ballet to the elite, training is becoming more open to various communities, and opportunities for professional pursuits of ballet are being driven more by desire and talent than status.
During ballet training, students are taught to control their movements and embody grace while achieving desirable posture, technique, and emotional execution. Early ballet training focuses on the development of flexibility, posture, and elegance through the correct execution of a variety of simple movements. As dancers progress in their training, the importance of their capability to perform and the difficulty of their dances increase. Techniques that require strength and an agile and flexible body, such as pointe work, are introduced to students, and expressiveness in bodily movement and facial impressions is required to bring entertainment value as a performer. By the end of their dance training, advanced students will either move on to pursue other life goals or join their studio's company and turn ballet into a profession. On the other hand, for those who pursue ballet recreationally, the later levels of ballet are typically out of reach, instead of simplified lessons in ballet designed to be enjoyable rather than career-determining.
Whether you train in ballet or not, interacting with the art is open to all, especially considering one of the primary goals of ballet is to captivate an audience through evocative performance. Ballets such as Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, and Romeo and Juliet are three examples of incredibly famous performances that exemplify all that defines ballet: technique, dainty movement, emotional execution, and perhaps the most impressive aspect of a speechless dance, the delivery of a narrative through dance and music.
To summarize, ballet is one of the only forms of sport that combines athleticism with artistry to create captivating performances and stunning movement among dancers. Despite intense pressure, potential losses of ability, and struggles with extreme competitiveness in the dance world, ballet dancers persist, keeping the art alive and healthy.

By Mai Mccondichie
Dance is a form of expression and art, even just dancing in your room. It is like painting without a brush, with just emotions and movement. People have been dancing for thousands of years. It allows people to express themselves through body movement. It is like telling a story without using your words and just your body. People find dancing really fun and super entertaining. People pay thousands of dollars to watch dancing.

Dance
By Sofia Gagunashvili
I used to be a dancer for two years, but once I realized I wanted to do another sport, I quit. Nevertheless, one thing I love about dance is how free you can be, unlike ballet or hip hop; even though it is the same, it is not like what I experienced. My dance teacher described each dance genre, and she helped me figure out my dance genre. Moreover, once I found it, she helped me be a better dancer and show my emotions through dance. I appreciated her; she was the best coach, and I was devastated when I had to tell her I was quitting dance.
Dance is not a sport; it is an art, "As a sport, dancers have to compete for work, train, and perfect their sequence of dance moves. They also need the stamina to build a career. As an art, dance is a form of expression." as stated in Google. Dance is not about your quick hands ( as in other sports), but dance is not only what you want it to be; there are different types of dance, like contemporary, for example; it is a beautiful dance genre and one of my favorites.
Dance movies like Dance Moms are viral around the world. They are reality shows about" following the training and careers of children in dance and show business under the tutelage of Abby Lee Miller, as well as the relationships between Miller, the dancers, and their mothers." As Google states, dance has many famous movies, and they have motivated and shown people how unique and cool dance is.
Aerial Silks
By Skylar Kesler
For many, aerial silks can be a form of exercise, but for the other half, it is dance, shows, and competitions. Not only is this sport excellent exercise for the core (you have to be able to pull your body up gracefully), but it is also enjoyable and pretty once you get the hang of it. This is also performed as a circus trick, so it is performed in shows like Circus O Lay.
This sport may seem easy, but you have to be very flexible, not tired after pulling yourself up on a rope once because you have to pull yourself up multiple times, and okay with having a rug burn.
The benefits of aerial silks are increased flexibility and strengthening of joints and ligaments. Flexibility is increased when your body has more freedom to move, according to https://www.zealaerialfitness.com. Also, if you want to gain more muscle and be stronger, aerial silks are perfect for helping you do so. This will strengthen your core and arm muscles.
Overall, aerial silks are fun, challenging, and core-oriented, but they are also a heartfelt form of dance and freedom. It's great for yourself, and you should consider doing it!
