8th Grade English
In eighth-grade English class, students will continue to grow in the areas of reading, writing, listening, speaking, discussion, and reflection. Students will explore narrative, informational, and argumentative writing styles with a focus on text-dependent analysis. Students will also have the opportunity to read various types of texts including, though not limited to, a graphic novel, a memoir, and assortments of poetry. Students will be engaged in a yearlong vocabulary program to strengthen their language abilities. The overall goal of the class is to increase the literacy, writing, and communicative abilities of students.
