Reading Olympics

If you love to read, then Reading Olympics is for you!

"Get ready to embark on a reading adventure like no other! The Berks County Reading Olympics has been igniting the love for books among students in Berks County. The goal of this awesome event is simple: to spark a passion for reading in kids and have a blast while doing it! We want students to read more, explore a wide range of books, and dive headfirst into the magic of reading and discussing stories with their pals." (BCSLA website)

Reading Olympics is a celebration of reading culminating with a fun competition. Each team is comprised of 10-12 students and is collectively responsible to read a list of predetermined books (Click here for the 2026 book list.). Our team(s) will compete against other fourth and fifth-grade teams across Berks County.

Joining the team requires each member to commit to reading a minimum number of books so that all books on the list are covered. On the night of this exciting competition, teams face off in a trivia "gameshow-like" event and are asked questions about the books from the list. If you love to read, then Reading Olympics is definitely for you!

*I will have copies of the books available in my classroom solely for the Reading Olympics team members.
