LEADership luncheons

The LEAD Academy (9th Grade) seeks to aid in the transition from Junior High to High School by providing specific support systems to students and their families as they acclimate to BGHS. The LEAD Academy seeks to do this through our guiding principles:

Lifelong Learners

Excellence through Effort

Always show Respect

Demonstrate Responsibility

Each Semester, teachers in the LEAD Academy are asked to nominate a single student based on the principles above to be recognized at a LEADership Luncheon. Each quarter focuses on a different aspect of the LEAD acronym

Students are recognized at the Alumni Center at WKU where they and their family are treated to a lunch in their honor as well as the opportunity to hear from WKU President Dr. Tim Caboni, former BGISD Superintendent Joe Tinus, and a variety of guest speakers. Student winners are given a tour of WKU by the WKU Spirit Masters and enjoy a first hand look at life after High School at Western Kentucky University.
