Course Description and Structure - Introduction to Computers course provides an introduction to the computer and the convergence of technology as used in today’s global environment. Introduces topics including computer hardware and software, file management, the Internet, e-mail, the social web, green computing, security and computer ethics. Presents basic use of application, programming, systems, and utility software. Basic keyboarding skills are strongly recommended.
Required Textbook(s) & Materials - The textbook and assessment software are available electronically in the student’s Blackboard Course Shell upon logging into the registered CIT 105 course. CIT 105 students will be charged a Course Access Fee to their KCTCS Tuition Bill for the use of the McGraw-Hill Connect and SIMnet textbooks and software throughout the duration of this course.
