There are several fun ways to make a bird feeder- with materials you probably have around your home! Our favorite homemade bird feeders are made from a string, a pinecone, peanut butter (or similar spread) and something to spread it, and bird seed. You can also use cheerios and sunflower seeds instead of bird seed.
Tie a piece of string around one end of the pinecone.
Use a popsicle stick, butter knife, or other tool to spread the peanut butter all over the pinecone.
Put bird seed, cheerios, and/or sunflower seeds on the peanut butter or roll the covered pine cone in the seeds!
Hang the feeder from a tree or fence. What birds (or other animals) eat the seeds?
