Voter approval would allow the district to construct a new school building that would alleviate capacity challenges caused by rapid growth.
*Proposed design, prepared by SVPA Architects.
The building would be located on district property north of the high school.
This proximity will allow easier student academic accelerations and minimize costs by sharing supports and services.
The building will serve students in grades 7-8 when it opens.
The initial capacity is up to 600 students.
The building is anticipated to open in the fall of 2022 beginning with 450 students.
The design and location is flexible and could serve a range of grade levels including 9th and 10th in the future depending on student needs.
Opening of a new building would allow a grade reconfiguration, alleviating capacity issues at the middle school and Anderson Elementary. The middle school would adjust to serve grades 5th and 6th. Anderson Elementary would then shift to serve grades 3rd and 4th. Based on enrollment projections, the additional space provided by the new building, along with grade reconfiguration, should serve the district’s needs until the fall of 2028.
September 8, 2020 - A Special Election will be held to authorize the Bondurant-Farrar Community School District to contract indebtedness and issue bonds to construct, build, furnish and equip a new junior high building to be located on district property north of the current high school. The ballot will also include a question regarding the district's Revenue Purpose Statement (RPS) which allows Bondurant-Farrar to continue to use penny sales tax revenue to fund building and technology needs. Polls will be open from 7AM to 8PM.
