Barcelona's Metropolitan is divided into six fare zones. Barcelona and its adjacent cities (the Metropolitan Area) is the first zone.

Taking the FGC to school you can get off at Peu de Funicular and walk down hill, or get off at Sarriá and walk uphill, or take the number 30 bus uphill to Plaza Borrás right where the tunnels de Vallvidrera let out.
For those living in Vallvidrera, the funicular is a popular option to come to school and connects to the FGC to Valldoreix.
Metro hours are Sunday thru Friday 5:00am till midnight. Friday from 5:00am -2:00am. Saturday service is non-stop.
FGC and funicular operating hours are station dependent.
All bus stops have a code. You may send a text message to the number 217412 with the word TEMPS followed by a space and the code for your stop. You will receive a text message within 10 seconds with the minutes until the bus or buses for that stop come.

Barcelona Streets are not wide and so if you are buying, renting or bringing your car keep this in mind.
Barcelona is built on a grid system. There are two semi-ring roads to the north and south of the city. Ronda de Dalt (North) and the Ronda del Litoral (South). The school is right off Ronda de Dalt. The Ronda del Mitre (mini-loop running through the city). Diagonal runs from the western corner of Barcelona to the coast. Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes crosses the city from east to west, passing through the center of the city. Ronda Litoral runs along the coast.
Plentiful and convenient.
Upon entering, take a ticket. This must be paid at the “Cajero Automático” machine prior to getting in your car and leaving.
Car Parks run by the city have larger entryways and wider spaces. They also accept Via-T for payment (see sub-section “Toll Roads” below). Tele Tac (EZ Pass in the US) can be requested through your bank and many parking garages accept it, for example L’illa and Corte Inglés.
Many lots will park the car for you.
You can find plenty of information provided by the Ajuntament available in English at this link.
Barcelona has 3 different parking zones marked with 3 different colors: Green, Blue and White
Green zone – Area Verda
The most expensive and the most difficult to find a free space. Green zone is designed to facilitate parking for residents and trim the one of no-residents. All kinds of vehicles can park there during regulated hours as long as the obligatory time ticket is clearly displayed
Blue zone – Area Blava
Much more extensive and at the same time a bit less expensive but equally hard to find
a free space within it. Only certain times of the day.
The White Zone Practically, all the rest of Barcelona is white zone, where you can park for free whenever you like, unless the space is marked with the word “Residents”. In that case, this spaces are ONLY for residents. The Green Areas are still for Residents and non Residents.
Delivery zones and Taxi Zones
These are specially designated areas for the cars providing supplies for shops, etc. You are not allowed to park there during their timetable, i.e. from Monday to Friday from 8am to 8pm.
