I was born upside down or right side up, I was never too sure. My mother always said I was a bright glitter boy, I think she meant I was gay. I always had a flair for the dramatic. My grandma loves me for that, well she did until the big gray man shoved half chewed food in her mouth making her choke. After that I guess the flamboyance died down a bit but it was still there. In high school my dad put me in every sport imaginable, and I was phenomenal at them. I threw glitter balls in baseball and did switch leaps over my opponents during football. I was also an excellent hunter. My dad said the animals liked my sweet disposition. He always called me captain glitter sparkles. I absolutely adore that man, and I suppose the gray man did too because he took my dad out in his sleep. Something about his heart.
I saw the gray man a lot after that. Classmates, my grandpa, family friends, and even my own Mother. I’m no stranger to the gray man nowadays. He’s always there. After he came to my husband in the middle of the night I knew I had to do something about it.
I started traveling and exercising. I lost a good 50 pounds during that time. Completely and utterly joyful. I got into several entanglements, I felt young once more. Until today. I was sitting in my sweet in Portofino, sipping wine and eating grapes, like royalty. That’s when he appeared.
“It’s been a while sir. I’ve been anticipating our encounter. I suppose you have too consider the state I find you in.”
“Excuse you sir, but I have never been better. I’m healthy and thriving.”
“That’s what they all say. How long have you been running from me sir. Because it has been a good couple of months since I came for your Mrs.”
I stayed silent at that. It felt as if I'd been doing this for a good few years. I looked down contemplating everything.
“There is no use doing that now sir. I’m sure you will find that what’s about to happen will be more extraordinary than any whine you could buy.”
