Hello Parents,

Due dates are as follows:

Sept 14 - Last day for Poem Recitation in class

Sept 21 - Last day to turn in Book Report and Reading Log

*If the packet has been misplaced, you can find the same information if you click on the "Long-Term Assignments" tab at the top of this page. Thank you!

What we are doing in Room 13 this week:

Spalding - Spelling words will be entered into our spelling notebook again this week.  You should see notebooks coming home each evening. An example of what your child's words should look like are at the bottom of this page.

Grammar - We will be continuing our unit on punctuation. We are also learning some fun grammar songs in class.

Writing - We are moving into writing 3-paragraph summaries from the key-word outlines.

Math - We are continuing Module 3 this week and will have our Module 3 test on Thursday. I have placed a study guide for the Module 3 test at the bottom of this page if you'd like to glance at it.  We will be completing this study guide as a class before we take the test.  Need a little help checking your child's homework? I am attaching the homework answer book at the bottom of this page as another tool for parents to help their child as needed.

Reminder:
This year we are offering test corrections on math tests for students that score below 75%. Here are some of the details:

● For accurate corrections, students will earn 50% of the original points back, up to a maximum grade of 75 for the test.

● Test corrections must be completed no more than 2 school days after the test has been returned to the student.

● Test corrections must be completed on a separate piece of paper and written legibly (if the teacher cannot read it, no credit will be given).

*Students are not required to make the test corrections.

Literature - We finished The Ninth Nugget and the class loved it! We will begin reading Charlotte's Web this week.

We have a wonderful class! Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you,

Christi Jensen
