  • Baking sheets for the oven. (It is teflon-coated and not pure paper).

  • Candle wax. 💡Eco-tip: Consider melting it and making new candles

  • CD's

  • Children's toys

  • Cotton

  • Diapers

  • Disposable razors

  • Döner box

  • Face masks

  • Hygiene products

  • Kleenex, face tissue

  • Leather

  • Filament lightbulbs

    • Energy-saving lightbulbs (ones that don't get very hot) must go to the Recyclinghof

    • Be careful that sharp glass won't break and puncture bags

  • Lighters, with or without gas

  • Medication or pills ⚠️Medication, even liquid medication, should never be dumped down the sink or toilet.

  • Napkins (these do not belong in paper or bio)

  • Needles (e.g., diabetic needles). Do something to prevent sharp objects from piercing the bag (put needles in a small container, tape them to cardboard, etc.).

  • Packaging with a lot of food in it still

  • Pens

  • Plastic sleeves for papers

  • Printed photos

  • Receipts from store

  • Rubber

  • Toilet paper

  • Toothbrushes

  • Vaccuum cleaner contents/bag

  • Wine cork

Most Restmüll in Germany is incinerated. Some of the waste is burned for energy. Unfortunately, people throw organic waste and plastic into the Restmüll, when it could have been recycled. The material in these items may never enter the reusable cycle again.
