Aluminum scrap and nonmagnetic metals (Aluschrott Nichteisenmetalle: Gross- u. Kleinteile)

You can put a refigerator magnet on the metal, and if it does not stick, then it belongs in this dumpster. Both large and small items.

Magnetic Iron Metals (Metalle Eisenschrott)

Large Household Items (Haushalts Großgeräte)

✅Washing machines, dishwasher, large speakers, etc.

❌They do NOT take refrigerators. See here for more information on fridges.

Ceramics / Pottery (Sanitärkeramik)

✅Toilet bowls, pots, plates, vases, coffee mugs

✅Flat glass up to a size of 1.40 m x 1.00 m

❌Food jars and bottles go in the glass depositories

❌Do NOT steal pretty mugs/plates for yourself. The Recyclinghof people sell them and make a profit.

Small Electrical Devices (Elektro-Kleingeräte und IT-geräte)

✅Any electrical appliance under 50 cm long (this length is of the whole device, not the cord).

✅Small toasters, extension cords, bathroom scale, etc.

Large Electrical Devices (Haushalts-Elektrogeräte)

✅Any electrical appliance over 50 cm long (this length is of the whole device, not the cord).

✅Fans, keyboards, printers, vacuum cleaners, etc.

Devices with built-in Lithium battery

✅Any electrical device where you cannot remove the lithium battery

✅Electric toothbrushes, razors, wireless keyboards, dust busters, etc.

❌No stand-alone batteries

Inside wood- dismantled (Möbelholz nur zerlegt)

✅Any wood that was inside: doors, orange boxes, chairs, furniture

✅Must be broken down/flattened

✅Wood with screws, nails, paint, varnish, and linoleum is okay (it will be burned)

❌No wood that was outside (patio furniture, garden boxes, etc.). No items larger than 2 m x 2 m x 2 m

Sperrmüll

✅Anything that belongs in Restmüll but will not fit in your personal bin

✅Mattress, carpet, upholstered furniture, etc.

❌No wet fabrics or pollutants

❌No items larger than 2 m x 2 m x 2 m

❌No small Restmüll that can fit in your personal bin at home

Hard Plastics (Hart-Kunststoff)

✅Empty flower pots, rain barrels, crates, plastic doll houses, childrens toys

❌No PVC pipes, PA, ABS, PET plastics

Paper and Books (nur Papier und Bücher)

✅Paper, books. (these can also go in your Papier bin at home)

💡Eco-tip: Consider talking to the BFA library about your unwanted English books. German books can go in the mini-libraries

Cardboard, cartons (Kartonagen)

✅Cardboard, egg cartons (these can also go in your Papier bin at home)

💡Eco-tip: Consider using egg cartons as fire kindling for your fireplace

Newspaper and Magazines (Zeitungen, Zeitschriften, Kataloge, Prospekte)

✅Newspapers, magazines, ads, brochures (these can also go in your Papier bin at home)

Monitors (Monitore)

✅TV and computer monitors

CD's, DVD's without cases (CD's, DVD's ohne Hülle)

✅DVD's, CD's

❌No VHS tapes, CD cases

Really heavy lithium batteries:

✅Lithium batteries over 500 grams

Printer toner cartridges (Tonerkartuschen)

✅Ink cartridges from printer.

Carefully lay them in the red cans, do not throw.

Energy-saving lightbulbs (Sparlampen)

✅Light bulbs that save energy (don't give off much energy, are swirly, etc.)

❌No filament bulbs- those go in your Restmüll

Fluorescent Tubes (Leuchtstoffröhren)

✅Long fluorescent light tubes
