Performer Expectations

As performing musicians, there are several expectations we can follow to maintain our goal of professional musicianship. In performances, please remember the following:

1. Both the day before and the day of, take care of your body!

  • It can be really hot under the stage lights, make sure you have been drinking plenty of water the day before performing, not just on the day of.

2. Protect your voice!

  • Don't endanger all your hard work being unnecessarily loud or talkative on the days around a performance.

3. When you are on stage, you are setting an example.

  • Everyone worked really hard to get here, show RCRS for your peers by making sure your body and voice are appropriately under control.

4. Make sure you are using your best singing/playing skills!

  • Again, you worked really hard to get here, so take advantage of the chance to show off what you've done!

5. No matter what happens, keep going!

  • There are no restarts in front of an audience. You worked too hard to let a mistake cause you to give up!

>>> As per Bettendorf Community School District policy, if a student is absent from school for the entire day, they are not allowed to participate in a school activity in the late afternoon or evening. This means that if they were home sick on the day of a concert, they will not be able to perform in that concert, and it will be counted as an excused absence. <<<

Congratulations!

You made it to the performance!
