What does CMP mean?

A Comprehensive Musicianship through Performance (CMP) lesson is a performing music lesson that expands students beyond the words and notes on the page. In a CMP lesson, students are asked to explore where the text comes from, how writers and composers work together to make pieces, and how those pieces fit into the musical world around them.
