Audience Expectations
One of the primary goals for this year has been for students to see themselves as professional musicians and performers. Here's how you can help:
1. Don't shout at or draw attention of students as they enter the stage.
The expectation is that they are a focused part of the whole group throughout the whole performance.
2. Please silence/turn off electronics.
This gives the whole audience the chance to really enjoy the fruit of your children's hard labor!
3. Save applause for the end of the song.
Unless there are solos/solis, please help your students keep their focus all the way to the very last note. I'll let you know when!
4. If you need to enter/exit the auditorium, please wait for the end of a song.
It is hard to see out from under the lights, but the brightness of an open door will be an immediately visible distraction.
Important Reminders
- Students must be transported with their class to be allowed to perform.
- ONLY certified Grant Wood Elementary staff are allowed backstage during performance days/events.
From the Bettendorf Community School District parents information page:
- Students must return to the school with their classes after performing.
- Families are invited to return to the school with a lunch to celebrate the performance with their student!
