This review book contains ALL of the information necessary to succeed at the highest of levels on the NYS Regents Exam in Earth Science.
I have explained to the students that since it is a review book ALL of the information is important.
Homework assignments are READING assignments from this book.
Reading for understanding and analyzing all of the graphs, drawings, diagrams, charts, and images presented on the pages is an essential skill to practice and learn.
Earth Science is a visual science so this helps students visualize the content.
Every page of content will be assigned throughout the school year this year.
Once ordered:
In person students will receive delivery in their first period class.
Remote only students should contact Ms. Farrell to coordinate pickup at the desk by the front door. Please email Ms. Farrell at tfarrell@bethlehemschools.org

Long term assignments
Used only when a lab is not turned in during the quarter it was assigned. The grade cannot be changed so an S allowing those lab minutes to count for Regents exam eligibility credit is assigned in Aspen.
Counts as O in gradebook (temporary) - will be updated when I receive an email from the student stating the assignment name and that it was completed and submitted (only applies to recent labs and never to labs from previous quarters).
Used extremely rarely.
This is usually only used for extended medical leave circumstances that are prearranged between families and the school administrators.
Grade will not count toward a student's average.
Items that appear along with a number in the Aspen Gradebook
Used when a lab score is below 65%. Every incorrect question on the lab must be redone in a different color and appear along with the original response. This will remain until I receive an email from the student stating the lab name and that it was completed and submitted.
Used only when a lab score is below 65%. The grade will not be changed so an S allowing those lab minutes to count for Regents exam eligibility credit is assigned in Aspen as a footnote to the original score as outlined in the course syllabus.
Each category has an average that then counts for the assigned percentage of the students quarterly grade.
I encourage students to learn how to prepare and what works for them in order to succeed on course assessments.
There are bonus points available on homework reading quizzes and standard content quizzes.
I drop a few grades each quarter to provide a small cushion for each student. Students will inevitably make mistakes and/or have extenuating circumstances that cause missed assignments or poor preparation.
Please contact me early and often if you want to learn how to improve your grade in Earth Science. I am flexible with students whenever possible, I just need students to communicate with me.
Students should be demonstrating clear effort at all times in this NYS Regents Science Course.
Lack of adequate effort is the most common reason students experience difficulty and struggle with course content.
