Hi there, my name is Zena.

I’m so excited to get to work with a program that has such an emphasis on recognizing the good in all humans. I’ve worked mostly with preschool-aged children for the past 5 years, in a handful of different settings, primarily special education. I have a BA in psychology, and learning and understanding how, and why, people behave the way they do has always interested me. I believe that everyone has good in them, and everyone deserves to have that be seen. I enjoy spending time outdoors with my dog and finding the joys in the little things in life. I’m excited to connect and grow together.

Hello, my name is Ms. Megan.

I have been working in General and Special Education for 20 years. I have also worked as a Case Manager in Adult Outpatient Mental Health, a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) for youth, and for a program within a Juvenile Detention Center with youth transitioning out. I am originally from California, and have lived in Oregon for almost 16 years and love it. I love going hiking, camping, and to the ocean with my friends and family, cooking and trying new recipes.

I am loving my role as a Skill Builder. I really enjoy the opportunity to help students problem solve and then work to build those skills they need. I look forward to connecting with youth and families, working together to help students build skills so they can be successful in life.

Hello, My name is Rich.

I am very excited to be a part of this amazing program. I deeply enjoy working with kids and their families. Creating a safe, nurturing environment where children can play, learn, and grow is a big priority for me. I’m excited to partner and communicate with families to provide the best care and education possible. I have been working with kids and youth for the past 4 years. I have worked as a camp counselor, program specialist at camps for individuals with disabilities, and as a preschool teacher. Outside of work I like to drive to the coast, listen to music, hang out with my cat, or attend sporting events.

Hi, my name is Heidi.

I am excited to be a part of this program with Direction Service. I have been working with children and youth for 9 years in a variety of different settings. I enjoy working with and learning from children. I feel they have just as much to teach us adults as we have to teach them, especially when it comes to enjoying life. One of the things I enjoy most about my position as a Skill Builder and working within the schools is being surrounded by happy faces throughout the day. For the children and youth that may struggle, I enjoy working with them to help them learn skills to accomplish their goals and dreams for themselves. Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family and animals. I enjoy being out in nature and being outside as much as possible.

Hello, my name is Cheryl.

I've had the pleasure of working with kids and their families for 14 years. I've been employed at non-profits as a case manager/skill builder, parent educator, a teacher in a therapeutic preschool, an associate teacher in a low-ration preschool, a one-on-one aide, and a substitute teacher. I believe parents are the foundation of the family and parenting is the most challenging and important job there is.
