Fees and Required Supplies

FEES 

Orchestra fees for every middle and high school student are due by the last school day of September. Checks can be made out to BPS. Fees are $50 and include the following...

-all contest fees (For solo and ensemble, the fee will cover 2 ensembles or solos. Anything above 2 will be charged to the student. If the student signs up for the ensemble and drops out, they will pay the entry fee.) 

-Shared classroom supplies (extra rosin, strings, fingerboard tapes, etc...)

REQUIRED SUPPLIES

-Instrument in working order. If the instrument breaks, students will have one week to get it fixed or their grade will be affected. 

-Rosin with their name written on the bottom in sharpie. 

-Cleaning cloth (this can be a clean t shirt cut into a square or washrag). Many rental stores will provide this for you.

Every student will purchase a tuner. I have provided some amazon links below to quality tuners. Please no tuners on phones to adhere to the cell phone policies. This is one that needs to be kept in their case. 

-3 ring binder or folder  for music. 

-pencil in the folder or case at all times.

6th Grade Orchestra will need to purchase the book...

Essential Elements 2000 Book 1 for their instrument. 

7th and 8th grade will need to purchase the book...

Essential Technique 2000 (book 3 of the essential elements series) for their instrument.

ALL Students will need ...

-ALL VIOLIN AND VIOLAS need a shoulder rest, not a shoulder sponge. Please choose a kun or everest brand. 

-ALL CELLOS NEED A ROCKSTOP WITH THEIR NAME WRITTEN ON IT!

-ALL BASSES need to purchase pops bass rosin, no exceptions.
