Grading

Participation (25 points per class day)

Points will be given for students having their instrument in working order, accessories and music. Students can lose partcipation points for failure to have these items. If the instrument is in for repair, the student must provide a note from the parent indicating the instrument is in the shop and the estimated date of the return of the instrument.  Students can also lose participation points for disruptive behavior during rehearsal. 

Concerts/Contests (200 points per event)

Students will receive 200 points per event for being there, having the proper uniform and being there for the entire concert, not just the portion in which they are playing. If a student is unable to make a concert or contest, they must notify Mrs. Mann by email at least one week prior to the concert date. In order to fulfill the grade requirement, they will select one piece from the concert repertoire, record themselves playing the selection and email it to Mrs. Mann BEFORE the day of the concert. 

Playing Exams (100 points per exam)

Periodically, students will be required to record a short playing exam from their music. These exams will be posted Flip. Links to join are in the forms and links tab. Flip also has a mobile app you can upload videos to as well.
