Student Environment and Goal Setting
TESTING ENVIRONMENT
Providing a quiet and focused testing environment is essential to ensuring that students have the opportunity to maximize their testing time. Please ensure that you have your Quiet Testing Sign posted on your classroom door, following restroom procedures, and ensuring that students are actively engaged while taking their assessment by monitoring and supervising through close proximity and attention to the testing portal. Clear testing protocols need to be implemented, this means students understand the expectations for assessment, specifically, scrap paper, procedures for ending, active test engagement, etc.
All classroom instructional visuals must be covered, the only thing that can remain visible during AASA is the alphabet.
CONFERRING WITH STUDENTS
Conferring with students about their yearly growth, previous assessment data and goals can be a helpful strategy to increasing student motivation and effort during AASA and in general.
Illuminate and EduClimber reports provides assessment history for state assessments (if taken while enrolled in the district) as well as benchmark assessments to help inform this discussion.
