This summer will be a celebration of ALL past ConnCAT summer genres: Jazz, Motown, Funk, Hip Hop & more! Classes will consist of Visual Art, Music Appreciation & Dance with workshops throughout the 6 weeks. 

The National Student Leadership Conference provides an immersive pre-college experience that prepares students for life beyond middle and high school, allowing them to study in university classrooms, learn to navigate a campus, and experience living with roommates. Students are able to explore a career concentration they are interested in before going into college and declaring a major. Each NSLC program also contains a leadership curriculum designed to teach skills that can apply to all areas of life.  Over 25 different areas to study.  Many/most charge tuition.  See website for more information and FAQ including scholarships.

University of Hartford  Architecture Summer Institute :  The Architecture Summer Institute is an exclusive opportunity for rising high school juniors and seniors to explore a three-week, immersive experience in architecture and design. This pre-college program offers you a hands-on opportunity to explore the fundamental elements of the architecture field while gaining valuable college experience. Cornell University:  CURIE Academy :  CURIE Academy seeks to develop literacy surrounding engineering as a major course of study in college, showcase career and graduate school pathways in engineering, and demystify the admissions process. CURIE Academy recognizes that not all students have equitable access to STEM educational opportunities and resources.  Therefore, we strongly encourage girls whose backgrounds and lived experiences are traditionally underrepresented in STEM fields, or who may not have access to robust, STEM-related curricular resources, to apply for CURIE Academy.  CURIE Scholars spend a week on the Cornell campus, living in dormitories, and networking with current Cornell Engineering students, faculty, and a diverse group of participants from across the country.  Participants attend daily classes in one area of study led by a Cornell Engineering faculty member, and work cooperatively under the supervision of faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students to execute and present a research project.  Additionally, students participate in nine (9) field sessions across our engineering majors, as well as a field session focused on the admissions process.  Discover more about CURIE Academy, and consider spending part of your summer with us!

Cornell University Catalyst Academy:  CATALYST Academy is a one-week residential program for rising high school juniors and seniors who desire to learn about engineering in the context of an authentic college experience.  CATALYST Academy is open to students of all gender identities.  CATALYST Scholars spend one week on the Cornell campus, living in dormitories, and networking with current Cornell Engineering students, faculty, and a diverse group of participants from across the country.  Participants attend daily classes in one area of study led by a Cornell Engineering faculty member, and work cooperatively under the supervision of faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students to execute and present a research project.  Additionally, students participate in ten field sessions across our engineering majors, as well as one field session focused on the admissions process.  The Academy seeks primarily to develop literacy surrounding engineering as a major course of study in college, showcase career and graduate school pathways in engineering, and demystify the admissions process.

Fairfield University BASE Camp:  Broadening Access to Science Education  BASE Camp is open to students completing their sophomore or junior year of high school from underrepresented groups in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) fields. Students must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, be in good academic standing, and have an interest in science. Space is limited to 24 students. Priority may be given to Bridgeport area applicants.  The two-week overnight camp is free of charge to accepted students. All meals and lodging on campus are included.

Fairfield University Pre-College Summer Immersion in Nursing:  In this track, students spend a week in the world of nursing, learning about the many opportunities available in this growing profession. Specific opportunities include the basics of first aid, CPR, and virtual classes in our state-of-the-art simulation lab. Students will come away with an understanding of the many possibilities a career in nursing holds with a targeted focus on their personal interests for their future in healthcare.

Bentley University:  Pre-college Program Data Analytics Academy Summer Pre-College Program  Bentley's Analytics Academy is a week-long pre-college program for rising juniors and seniors in high school and offers a unique opportunity to explore the vast potential of data and gain insights into the world of data sciences. Through engaging with guest speakers and hands-on learning, students can develop practical skills and knowledge while working on a capstone project, allowing them to apply their newfound abilities in a real-world setting.  The program's emphasis on creating a fun and positive learning experience ensures that students not only acquire valuable data analytics skills but also enjoy the journey of discovery and exploration. Courses will be offered on campus this summer. 

Health Career Opportunity Programs:  Programs open to Middle and High School Students that offer professional mentorship and experiences.  Openings have eligibility requirements, deadlines and are competitive.
